As part of these celebrations we launched 'The Stories That Made Us: 30 stories for 30 years', a curated collection of memories and reflections from people who have been part of Navitas journey. As we enter our 31st year, we'll be continuing to post stories from our staff and alumni who share their memories and reflections of Navitas. Happy International Women's Day! This IWD we are proud to be celebrating the United Nations IWD theme, 'For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.' The theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power, and opportunities for all. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation, particularly young women and adolescent girls, as catalysts for lasting change. Thank you to our incredibly talented women leaders across Navitas who participated in our IWD campaign this year by sharing the pivotal moments in their career that empowered them to be the leader they are today. Have a wonderful International Women’s Day! To acknowledge International Women's Day (8 March) and celebrate the talented women working in international education around Australia, The Koala News selected ten women from across the sector to participate in a Q&A. Our very own Dom Harden, Academic Director at La Trobe College Australia, was one of those women. Find out who inspired Dom to pursue a career in international education, and the one lesson from her career that she wishes she'd known earlier in the article below!

In an environment of persistent uncertainty, #internationalisation remains a high priority for universities, but it's increasingly influenced by government policy and financial pressures, according to findings from our second Global Survey of International Education Leaders (GSIEL) report. Conducted in partnership with Nous Group, over 200 senior operational and strategic leaders with responsibility for international education and global engagement at universities in Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada shared their insights about their internationalisation agendas, priorities and assessments of future opportunities. The 'Internationalisation in the midst of slowbalisation' report is available for download here: nousgroup.com/gsiel-2025 #intled #internationaleducation #highered #highereducation #NavitasInsights

Earlier today, in partnership with Nous Group, we launched findings from the second Global Survey of International Education Leaders (GSIEL) in our latest report, 'Internationalisation in the midst of slowbalisation'. A survey of more than 200 senior operational and strategic leaders from the international education sector in Australia, Canada, and the UK showed “much weaker intentions” to spend on agent aggregators and digital recruitment platforms in 2024 compared to 2022. Respondents also expected to see a drop off in their institutions’ investment in marketing and recruitment staff. The survey did however show a glimmer of hope for education agents, revealing that institutions still expect to rely on them heavily for their international student recruitment efforts. Following the success of the inaugural Global Survey of International Education Leaders (GSIEL) in 2022, we are excited today to release findings from a second GSIEL in the report, 'Internationalisation in the midst of slowbalisation'. In partnership with Nous Group and The PIE, we have once again sought to understand the challenges and opportunities facing the university sector across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK. The GSIEL report provides insights from university leaders, highlighting their internationalisation agendas, priorities, and assessments of future opportunities. Facing a new era of managed international student numbers, university leaders continue to prioritise internationalisation but within the context of increasing financial pressures. Navitas Chief Insights Officer Jonathan Chew said: “Beyond the financial pressures in the immediate term, university leaders must contend with the possibility that the shift from the market era to the managed era will continue to deliver greater levels of government intervention and control, which will in turn have important implications for strategic planning.” Read the full report to explore the trends shaping the future of international education: nousgroup.com/gsiel-2025 #internationaleducation #intled #highereducation #highered #transnationaleducation
