    Happy Graduation to the 1,325 Graduates this academic term! This Sunday morning marks a significant milestone as I officiated a graduation ceremony for our 1,352 graduates from our Children, Young Learners, General English, Advanced and Diploma programs of the @Australian Centre for Education (ACE). This proud moment celebrates the hard work, dedication & growth in their academic journey. Joined by their parents/family, the hall was packed with more than 2,000 people in the audience. As Country Director of IDP Education & ACE, while applauding their accomplishment, I highlighted the English skill they now possess is a powerful tool enabling them to engage with the world in new dynamic & exciting ways; opening doors to new opportunities, cultures & connections. ACE, part of IDP Education, has over 100,000 enrollments a year, representing 30+ nationalities, across 6 campuses in Cambodia. In 2021, ACE became the first school outside Europe to win the prestigious Language Educator of the Year prize, and in 2022 over 40 judges from around the world chose ACE in the Digital Innovation – Learning category at the PIEoneer Awards in London, international education’s leading excellence and recognition event.     IDP’s Pride ERG members Rosie Gude, Duy Huynh, and Matt Toohey came together with our Melbourne team to foster a supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environment. Matt, a member of our executive leadership team, is an ally and the sponsor of our Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). “Sponsoring the Pride ERG is an opportunity for me to help everyone feel safe and supported. It is important that people can be themselves in the workplace. Across my career, I’ve seen significant disparities in inclusivity. It made me realise the impact of a safe environment. At work and in everyday life, we all should be able be our true selves. It is up to all of us to create a safe environment with a culture of trust and belonging.     Today, IDP released its full-year results for the financial year 2024 (FY24). Tennealle O'Shannessy, IDP's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, said the results demonstrate IDP’s leading position in an industry impacted by short-term shifts in market dynamics. “We are proud of the results our global team delivered in FY24, despite the international education sector’s well-documented regulatory challenges,” Ms O’Shannessy said. “Our achievements highlight IDP’s focus on delivering quality services and commitment to our long-term strategy,” she said.     We are pleased to share that the world’s most trusted English test, IELTS, is now faster, with most IELTS on computer results available in as little as two days. In Australia and New Zealand test takers can typically expect their results in one day. Michael James, Director for IELTS Operations Australasia at IDP Education, said: “We know an IELTS result is important to our test takers, who are chasing a place at a university, a visa, a new job, or a new life abroad. “That’s why we are working quicker to check answers, undergo integrity processes, and give test takers the right score that opens up opportunities.     The new UK Government has welcomed international students with open arms. The Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson, this week confirmed that the Graduate route will remain in place and has made it clear that "this government values their contribution – to our universities, to our communities, to our country.” IDP is delighted to see the new UK Government recognises that international education transforms lives and communities. We will continue our important work with the new government and key stakeholders to ensure international students are at the heart of major decisions and can thrive in the UK and globally.     ‘Be in no doubt: International students will always be welcome in this country’ I joined the international education sector in 2000. The previous year Tony Blair launched the first phase of PMI at the London School of Economics. The strategy was focused on attracting more international students (an extra 50k into HE, 25k into FE). Importantly it recognised the broad and long-lasting value of international students. I've believed in international education ever since and have witnessed the positive impact in the UK (including brilliant colleagues) and overseas. Fast forward 25 years, it is reassuring to see the new Labour government moving quickly to prioritise international students by confirming that the Graduate route will remain in place. In a major speech from the Secretary of State, Bridget Phillipson, delivered to the Embassy Education Conference, it was confirmed that the Graduate route will remain in place, making it clear that this government “values their contribution – to our universities, to our communities, to our country.” IDP will continue to collaborate with the new government and other sector stakeholders to ensure the UK remains a highly sought-after destination for international students. We extend our gratitude to these students, whose presence makes the UK more innovative and globally connected. At IDP, we will continue to champion their valuable contributions. Professor Dame Sally Mapstone, President of Universities UK, said: “I know the tremendous commitment and sacrifice that so many international students make to pursue their dreams to study overseas - which is why the message delivered by the new government today is so important.
