About us
Northcape Capital is an international boutique fund manager fully owned by its staff. We specialise in managing concentrated high-quality equity portfolios for clients. Significant value-added returns since our establishment in 2004 has facilitated growth in funds under management to more than A$10 billion. One of the keys to our success is our multiple portfolio manager structure, which encourages accountability, curiosity, constructive debate and diversity of thinking. This has been instrumental in attracting and retaining high calibre, experienced investment professionals across offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Tokyo. Our experienced investment team is focused solely on delivering strong performance for our clients over the long term. Research Our focus on critical thinking in our research process drives an informed assessment of a company’s sustainable competitive advantage. We believe that discovering and investing in high quality companies with a meaningful competitive advantage is the cornerstone of repeatable performance. Performance We have limited the capacity of all our equity funds to ensure we remain nimble and continue to deliver on our goal of strong outperformance for our clients. Protection We believe that protecting capital in down markets is the foundation for superior returns over the long term. We have a strong and practical approach to risk that focuses on avoiding companies that are structurally challenged, highly geared or have poor ESG standards. Our Difference We understand that there are many fund managers seeking to outperform the market. Northcape’s difference lies in our unique structure, the experience of our people and our alignment with clients. Our structure recognises that everyone’s experience and insights are valuable, and it makes provisions to capture this value in our investment decisions. This has been instrumental in attracting an established and experienced investment team with minimal levels of staff turnover.

Fleur Wright from Northcape Capital reflects on her early investment in Nvidia, inspired by her 2018 visit to its headquarters where she recognised the long-term growth potential of the company. Nvidia’s structural growth is set to continue through its dominance in Gen AI and expected heavy investments from tech giants and governments. Fleur sees the stock's share price volatility as an opportunity for strategic positioning. Don’t miss her insights at the Sohn Hearts & Minds Conference in Adelaide this November, where she’ll present another interesting stock pick while supporting a great cause supporting Australian medical research! Thanks to David Rogers from the The Australian for the opportunity to share these insights! https://lnkd.in/ge68U5Uy

It's exciting to see Northcape Capital's Peiting Liang, CFA invited back to the annual Activam Group Conference in 2024, this time in Torquay, where she shared Northcape's 3 key lessons from 20 years of outperformance in Australian Equities. She discussed how momentum and "FOMO" behaviors have driven some stocks to extreme and unsustainable valuations. "You can imagine it being like a very crowded boat. And when everyone shifts to one side of the boat, the risk of capsizing goes up substantially." #Act2024 #qualityinvesting #australianequities Warakirri Asset Management

Northcape Capital reposted this
We are delighted to announce that the Warakirri Global Emerging Markets Fund has been upgraded to a ‘Recommended’ rating by Lonsec Research as part of their most recent review. The Fund, managed by specialist EM manager Northcape Capital, provides investors with a concentrated, benchmark unaware, quality biased emerging markets equities exposure. Lonsec highlighted that “the Manager's investment process places a high degree of emphasis on downside protection within their stock selection and sovereign risk framework, alongside notable integration of ESG considerations”. Underpinning the upgrade is the “the team's acumen, alignment and co-tenure” and “highly detailed research approach”. Financial advisers can find out more on our website at https://lnkd.in/g44wheyP Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. The rating issued for the Fund (assigned May 2024) is published by Lonsec Research. For important information about this rating visit: https://lnkd.in/egSrVhJx

Thank you WealthLeaders eXchange and Warakirri Asset Management for inviting Northcape Capital's Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager, Cameron Robson, to present on the critical topic of the need to diversify the return drivers in client portfolios and why emerging markets remain one of the last bastions of structural growth.
Great to have Cameron Robson from our Emerging Markets specialist investment partner Northcape Capital speaking in the “Passing the Baton” session at today’s WealthLeaders eXchange Forum. Cameron shared some interesting insights with an audience of leading advisers around why what’s worked over the last cycle won’t necessarily work in the period ahead; the need to diversify the return drivers of client portfolios; and why emerging markets are one of the last bastions of structural growth.
