When Nous was founded 25 years ago, we wanted to build a consulting firm that made a substantial, positive contribution – to our clients and their businesses, but also to the customers, citizens and communities they serve. Our latest campaign message – Like you, we’re here for good – is an expression of that long-term commitment and how it manifests in the work we do with the public sector. #NousGroup #HereForGood #25Years

It’s that time of the election cycle: the caretaker period looms. With it comes a degree of uncertainty that the public service knows all too well. It's important for leaders at all levels to be thinking about how to set themselves and their teams up for success. International higher education is navigating a period of upheaval and uncertainty. As universities respond to declines in global interconnectedness and cooperation, they are also managing the shift from a 'market era' to a 'managed era' where governments tightly control international student flows. Our latest Global Survey of International Education Leaders, conducted in partnership with Navitas, shows internationalisation remains a key priority for universities and a strategic imperative for leaders but it is increasingly influenced by government policy and financial pressures. This week, we released findings from our second Global Survey of International Education Leaders, conducted in partnership with Navitas and The PIE. Highlighting the significant impact of government policies on international education, this latest report delves into the internationalisation agendas, priorities, and opportunities of over 200 senior leaders from universities in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Commenting on the findings, Nous Principal and report co-author, Matt Durnin, said: “Pressure to compete while reducing costs will lead to new approaches to internationalisation going forward. There will be a portion of the sector that reduces its dependence on international, while others will find opportunities within the constraints of this managed era. “There is a lot of focus on Transnational Education however the findings show that leaders are uncertain about their ability to execute successfully. It won’t be a quick fix for revenue.” Read the full report to explore the trends shaping the future of international education: https://lnkd.in/dKZ9iuQe #InternationalEducation #HigherEducation #TransnationalEducation

Health not-for-profit organisations must continually adapt to remain relevant and effective. Over the past forty years, Australia’s HIV sector has remained both. The sector has demonstrated remarkable agility in responding to changes both unforeseen and brought on by its own success. So, what lessons can other health NFPs learn from Australia’s HIV sector? In their new article Steven Philpot, Steven Hodge, and Michael Stewart consider what has made the sector one of the stand-outs in the NFP space.
