We recently celebrated #InternationalWomensDay and all of the incredible women shaping our future in NSW 💜 Meet Dr. Tanya Mason, Senior Wetland Scientist. Her passion for research drives change in science and conservation 🌍💡 "My job is fantastic because it allows me to ask research questions, collect and analyse data, and interpret ecological patterns in a changing world. My work helps conservation managers adapt to and mitigate environmental change." We’re proud to have leaders like Dr. Tanya in our Science and Insights Division! Working to reduce gambling harm, prevent money laundering, and support a strong hospitality industry 💪️ We want to hear from you about: • a third-party exclusion scheme – letting family, friends, and venues apply to ban someone experiencing serious gambling harm 👇️ https://lnkd.in/dEpd_JrQ • facial recognition technology – helping venues keep people who have chosen to self-exclude, or have been excluded by others, out of gambling areas, while providing support to those who need it 👇️ https://lnkd.in/dukXeeRg We’re also putting strict privacy protections in place, so venues can only use facial recognition to identify excluded patrons—not for marketing, tracking, or surveillance. Your thoughts will help shape how these changes roll out across NSW. #GamblingLaws #NSWGambling #HaveYourSay

When disasters strike, staying connected is critical 📱 Two new broadband Cells on Wheels (COWs) are on stand-by in Coffs Harbour, ready to be deployed to evacuation centres if Cyclone Alfred hits. These units can provide temporary Wi-Fi connectivity to communities if regular telecommunications infrastructure is damaged or destroyed. #NSWGovernment #EmergencyResponse #StayConnected
