The Howlong Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) won the Excellence in Service Delivery award at the NSW Premier's Awards! Since 30 October 2023, this incredible team has been providing life-saving initial care to patients before paramedics arrive, thanks to a partnership between NSW Ambulance and the Howlong Community Progress Association. In a town of just 2,551 people, where a full-time paramedic station isn’t possible, the Howlong CERT ensures the community gets the emergency care it needs when they need it most. How the program works: ✨10 local volunteers completed 9 months of intensive training. ✨ They’re trained to provide care before paramedics arrive, improving health outcomes for their community. ✨They’ve responded to 95 Triple Zero (000) calls so far Congratulations to the Howlong CERT team for winning this well-deserved award and making a real difference in their community! 👏 #NSWAmbulance #EmergencyResponse #HowlongCERT #NSWPremiersAwards #ExcellenceInService #VolunteerHeroes
