This Wednesday marks the 83rd anniversary of one of the most defining moments in Australian history – the Bombing of Darwin. On 19 February 1942, the skies over Darwin darkened when a wave of Japanese bombers attacked. The city and its military installations were bombed relentlessly, leaving behind destruction and devastation. The anniversary is a day to reflect on our past and pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives and courageously defended our country. The Bombing of Darwin commemorative service will be held at the Darwin Cenotaph at 9.30am. For more information please visit: https://lnkd.in/g7VRhw7a. Image credit: LACW Annika Smit, Defence Imagery
