Exciting News: We’re kicking off 'See it LIVE in 2025' – a year-long campaign that celebrates the incredible lineup of sporting and entertainment events at Optus Stadium this year! To support the launch, we were joined today by an all-star lineup of current players and legends from some of the biggest sporting codes including, John Sutton (former South Sydney Rabbitohs), Kurtley Beale (Western Force/former Wallaby), Jacob Burns (former Socceroo), Mahli Beardman (Perth Scorchers) and Dale Finucane (former Cronulla Sharks). Already, major event action has kicked off in February with the AFL Indigenous All-Stars v Fremantle, along with the start of the highly anticipated AFL season, and a West Coast v Fremantle Derby not far away in round 3. Winter will come alive this year with a blockbuster NRL double-header in April, then onto the Socceroos Asian Cup Qualifier, State of Origin II, the British and Irish Lions v Western Force plus the Wallabies v All Blacks Bledisloe Cup in October - making it our biggest winter calendar to date. And as summer approaches, Perth heats up with a near sold-out Metallica concert, the first 'Ashes' West Test and the Perth Scorchers, making it a summer to remember! Optus Stadium continues to showcase the biggest events in Perth and the 'See it LIVE in 2025' campaign encourages fans to come to an event and experience all the action LIVE this year. #SeeitLIVEin2025 #optusstadium #majorevents VenuesLive

Today we're pleased to announce the appointment of Alasdair Thompson as the stadium's new Executive Chef – only the second person to hold the position since the venue opened almost seven years ago. Thompson was part of Optus Stadium’s original opening team, starting as Chef de Cuisine before becoming Executive Sous Chef in January 2020. Prior to joining the stadium, he was Head Chef at Crown Perth’s Italian fine dining restaurant Modo Mio and also trained under Alain Fabregues, of the nationally and internationally renowned classical French restaurant The Loose Box, in Mundaring. Optus Stadium CEO Mike McKenna said Thompson has been an integral part of the stadium’s success from the outset. “Alasdair was part of the team charged with getting the stadium ready for opening, then creating our Meeting and Special Events (MASE) culinary offering from the ground up,” Mr McKenna said. “His menu really established the quality and style of our MASE offering which has grown into a significant part of our business and has been recognised through numerous awards, both in Western Australia and nationally. “Alasdair will build on the stadium’s already established strong kitchen culture and reputation for world-class dining and continue our focus on creating the freshest and best products in our kitchens, wherever we can, using locally sourced products.” Thompson replaces long-time Optus Stadium Executive Chef Jochen Beranek and joins a strong team of chefs across the VenuesLive network. Thompson will also oversee HBF Park’s food and beverage services and corporate hospitality offerings which have been delivered at Perth’s renowned rectangular stadium by VenuesLive since July 2024. Stepping into his new role, Thompson is ready to push boundaries and create unforgettable dining experiences for stadium guests. “This is a dream come true, and I can’t wait to share my passion with you all!” Read more about this appointment here: https://loom.ly/JjkPLH4 #optusstadium #foodandbeverage #CreatingTheExperience #premiumhospitality
