Last Friday, Crown Melbourne and the Children's Cancer Foundation (Australia) hosted The Million Dollar Lunch at Crown Palladium, raising close to $2.1 million for children’s cancer research, clinical care, and family support services.    The Crown Resorts Foundation once again pledged an additional $100,000 at the event to support the Children's Cancer Foundation and the important work that they do for Australian children and their families.    Each year, Crown provides financial and in-kind support for The Million Dollar Lunch, including covering event costs, volunteering our team member’s time to plan and execute the event, and utilising our supplier network to gather donations of fresh produce that are used for the lunch.

A fascinating new documentary highlighting the unique connection between The Salvation Army Australia and the silver screen premiered in The Palms at our Crown Melbourne property last week. It was another special opportunity for the Crown Resorts Foundation to support our longstanding relationship with The Salvation Army and provide them with the perfect space to showcase this interesting piece of history from their archives. We were so proud to have many of our own team members involved in the night from hosting the event, to using their voices to form part of the film’s narration. You can learn more about how the exciting project was brought to life on The Salvation Army website and continue supporting their important mission to make a difference in our communities. https://lnkd.in/giu5jAFR

Crown Perth was the home of Ultimate Fighting Championship 305 celebrations this weekend, closing out an epic week of entertainment. We hosted two exclusive Q&A events, an open workout, official watch parties and a huge after party at Crown Nightclub, featuring title winner and our in-house guest, Dricus du Plessis. It’s not hard to see why Crown Perth is the city’s ultimate entertainment destination.

We’re so excited to support two First Nations team members from our Boorloo (Perth) property to participate in an executive development program led by the Australian Institute of Management WA (AIM WA)   Joel Collard and Kyle Ingram have each been with Crown in the areas of Security and Table Games for more than a decade. Through the Beediyar program they will have an opportunity to accelerate their careers through learning, networking, coaching and other educational opportunities. We’re also proud to have sponsored a third place in the program, for another Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island leader to participate.   We are proud to be supporting Kyle and Joel on their journey, and can’t wait to see what they achieve next!

Family and domestic violence is the single biggest cause of homelessness in Australia, particularly for women. This Homelessness Week, we recognise that with the scale of our workforces comes a responsibility, not only to our people but also to lead the industry in which we operate. At present, Australia’s National Employment Standards legislate that organisations must offer their employees ten days unpaid family and domestic violence leave each year. Crown is proud to exceed these mandated standards by offering uncapped paid leave for team members experiencing family and domestic violence.  In addition to uncapped paid leave, Crown is committed to supporting team members tackle the unthinkable pressures that come with a domestic violence situation, offering additional personal security, technical support to protect privacy and prevent device hacking, 24/7 confidential counselling free of charge, flexible working arrangements, a chaplaincy service, and support services from external providers around financial literacy/independence, legal guidance and housing assistance. At the heart of our commitment is a recognition of the strain family and domestic violence imposes upon its victims beyond the act of violence itself. This week we are lighting our resorts purple to raise awareness, and also hosting educational sessions for our team members to empower them with ways to volunteer and make a difference. We remain committed to supporting The Salvation Army Australia in their profound efforts to combat homelessness, domestic violence, and substance abuse, and look forward to sharing more news soon about this growing partnership.

In the next episode of ’30 Faces’, a content series celebrating 30 years of joyful, elevated experiences at Crown with our team, guests, and some of Australia’s most well-known celebrities, we reunite Bec Judd with the iconic Ruth Tarvydas red gown she wore to the 2004 Brownlow Medal at Crown Melbourne 20 years ago. Synonymous with Australian pop culture, Bec Judd’s red dress caused widespread media hype and is now one of the most notable fashion moments at Crown over the past three decades.   As part of our 30th Birthday celebrations, Crown Melbourne’s Atrium is showcasing a remarkable installation featuring intricate performance outfits from some of Crown’s greatest shows from 11– 31 July. From 1–22 August, the display will feature exquisite gowns from past red-carpet events, including Bec Judd’s iconic 2004 Brownlow Medal dress. We invite you to come down to Crown Melbourne to check them out and enjoy the festivities!

Last weekend, we had the privilege of hosting a very special guest at Crown Sydney, 11-year-old Tirion, who was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer just before Christmas. Tirion is also a Taylor Swift fan, and as Presenting Partner of the Eras Tour, we wanted to create the ultimate weekend for her and her best friend, Chloe, and their mums, with plenty of Eras Tour themed surprises. The stay was also a celebration with Tirion receiving the news she is now in remission. Thanks to Ben Fordham and his 2GB radio show for working with us to make this possible.

Yesterday Crown Resorts celebrated its 30th Birthday, marking three decades as one of Australia's largest and most iconic entertainment groups. In a bold midnight launch, Crown first opened on 30 June 1994 at Melbourne's Galleria World Trade Centre, with 2,500 team members welcoming 30,000 guests on opening night. Three years later, the flagship property relocated to its permanent home in Southbank, with a 1.6-billion-dollar build spanning 550,000 square metres, injecting thousands of jobs and millions of dollars into the economy. With resorts now in Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, Crown has grown to become the home to some of the country's most iconic and memorable cultural moments, from Elton John in 1994 to Taylor Swift's mania in 2024. To mark the occasion, we have created a content series to relive some of the most exciting and memorable moments from the past three decades of Crown Resorts. The series will feature some of Australia's most well-known icons who have walked through our doors, as well as our loyal guests and talented workforce. The first episode features entertainer Rhonda Burchmore and Crown Melbourne's Events & Entertainment Executive, Emma Chapman. We look forward to sharing these stories with you over the coming months.
