Employers have a vital role to play in supporting individuals with #MentalHealth conditions to thrive in the workplace. Reasonable accommodations can make a huge difference to people living with mental health conditions. They should be specific to an individual person’s needs. Examples can include: 🔹 Flexible working hours and regular, supportive check-ins 🔹 Extra support when returning to work after an absence. Employers should also provide managers with training to recognize and address stressors in the workplace. Trained managers can effectively support their teams and foster a healthier, more supportive work environment. By fostering inclusive environments where everyone feels supported and valued, we can empower our teams to perform at their best.

Let's do what we can to smash the stigma around poor mental health in the workplace, including with how we think about sick leave. Sometimes you need a sick day for a Covid, sometimes you need a sick day for a sore heart. And both are okay.

Psychosocial hazards must be managed using the same risk management process used for physical risks. The first step is to identify #PsychosocialHazards in your workplace. 🧠 Workers can help identify tasks or aspects of their work that cause or expose them to psychosocial hazards and may have practical suggestions to address those hazards. Your workers may talk about their exposure to psychosocial hazards in different ways. Swipe to read what psychosocial hazards may arise and sound like at work. The People at Work tool is designed to help identify and manage psychosocial risks and meet your duties under WHS laws. • Working in solo workplace environments can be challenging, especially when it comes to navigating the emotional situations you face every day. When you have no colleagues to turn to for advice, who do you rely on? That’s where PCA steps in! We have partnered with the skilled Associate Professor Danny Simms, who held focus groups with PCA members to identify the training they wanted most. Together, we’ve designed the PCA Professional Education Series tailored just for you.
