  • Now in its fifth year, our Community Fund has supported 55 projects across the region with a combined value of more than $2.5 million. The Port has helped clubs like Coral Sea Outrigger Canoe Club Inc purchase equipment for their juniors through their successful Community Fund application last year. "With your donation, we were able to purchase 10 junior life jackets and waterproof gear bags ensuring our Honu Iki team have the equipment they need to stay safe on the water and ensure longevity of equipment,” President Tracey Cox said. A total of $50,000 in funding is available, with not-for-profit groups and organisations able to apply for sponsorship amounts from $200 to $10,000. The fund is open until COB Monday 14 April. • To mark St Patrick’s Day, we’d like to introduce you to our new mate Hector Ó hEochagáin, a well-known Irish travel show presenter who visited our Port with his film crew last week. As the largest multi-cargo Port in Northern Australia, we’re proud to facilitate the import and export of products linking North Queensland to the world. Hector was keen to learn about our operations which will be showcased through their national television channel TG4 when the segment airs in Ireland later this year. A craicing good time was had by all, to be sure. 🍀🍺☘️

  • Thank you for cruising into Townsville, Amadea! To celebrate her inaugural visit to our port today, our Port Services Manager Mark Jenkins was onboard to present the Port’s traditional maiden voyage plaque, along with an iconic Aussie souvenir, to Captain Robert Fronenbroek. It was great to see the travellers make the most of their day-long stay by exploring the tropical beauty of our region. Amadea is scheduled to depart at 6pm today, continuing her journey further North through to Cairns.
