Finding the right people to fill the right roles is essential if we're to deliver for the thousands of Territorians who rely on us for essential services. But, as any organisation will confirm, finding those people can be tricky! As part of our holistic approach to recruitment, we run Assessment Centres for prospective apprentices and trainees. Why? Because interviews and resumes don't always tell the full story. During an Assessment Centre those keen to join us as an apprentice or trainee do have a face-to-face interview, but also get to work through a range of activities (written, practical and group), and meet people from across our team. This gives them a valuable insight into what being part of our team means, and gives us a valuable insight into their strengths and skillset. We're serious about looking after our environment, especially when it comes to building new infrastructure! Part of this involves site visits by our Environmental Services team, and they visited Manton Dam recently to check out the Return to Service project. With water demand expected to double by 2050, this initiative will add 7,300 megalitres of water per year to the Darwin region's supply system. It's a massive, long-term project that will increase the Top End's water security, and our Environmental Services team will be involved every step of the way. As part of their visit they ensured all construction activities were in compliance with the project's Environmental Management Plan. The Radicle Science Awards NT celebrate Territorians achieving in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. This is something we're passionate about, so we sponsored the Contribution to STEAM Outreach and Engagement category at this year's awards! This award recognises outstanding efforts in inspiring and engaging our communities in STEAM, and creating opportunities for Territorians. Congratulations to category winner Anastasiia Maksimova, a botanical artist, tutor and researcher who is actively involved in developing environmental education through art. Anastasiia has conducted more than 50 workshops for the local community to increase awareness of the Top End's unique flora, and promote knowledge and technical skills about the history of botanical art and modern development. We're celebrating two wins at the Water in the Bush conference, which we supported this year as a Principal Partner! Congratulations to Kylie Collins for being named Water Professional of the Year, and to every member of our team involved in the Katherine PFAS Water Treatment Plant. The project took out the Infrastructure Project Innovation (Regional) Award.
