Publift came into existence when our founders saw how important ad revenue was for small to mid-sized publishers. But the tech needed to manage that was intricate and so was the industry.     What an interesting way to get back into it after a long vacation 🏖 TL;DR: The ultimate call has been made and 3P cookie deprecation has been cancelled! ... Maybe? Over the past few years (it’s been that long), us Publifters would go back and forth over lunch or around the water cooler on “will Chrome really pull the pin on 3P cookies?” and with the help of hindsight, we know that the ad-revenue footgun is to be holstered, at least for now or if regulators permit this pivot. With Chrome not having an adopted alternate solution to cookies and a deadline looming, this piece of news hasn’t caught us off guard. End users of the internet want to feel like their phone isn’t listening to them. Governments are increasingly pursuing adequate legislation to ensure their citizens have control over their data and feel protected. I read this announcement as Chrome beginning to change their narrative to mirror those requirements, which is a good thing. And of course, it avoids major short-term product holes. So with that said, it seems that cookies and how they’re used today will continue to be molded into something more suitable to what end users want. Chrome is a big browser by market share, but Safari, Firefox and others still contribute a meaningful number of users across our customer base, without cookies by default. And that is just the web. Unsurprisingly, more and more people are consuming content in environments that don’t use cookies (e.g., CTV). Marketers want to be able to hit users with their messages in the right place at the right time, and 3P cookie coverage isn’t growing. With that, Publift won’t be halting our plans to provide our publisher with meaningful, revenue generating alternatives to cookies in the short term and beyond.     Google recently invited Publift to speak to app publishers at their latest Google’s AUNZ Apps Connect 2024! Ben Morrisroe, our general manager, shared his insights on the importance of ads as a product, leveraging audiences, and the benefits of app publishers using Google Ad Manager (GAM). With GAM, publishers get a unified platform for ad inventory management, advanced targeting, reporting, and various programmatic buying methods. Combining GAM with Publift’s Fuse platform, app publishers can remotely control and configure ad setups, launch A/B experiments, and create more demand with Prebid auctions.     ⌛ What used to take months now takes minutes: Streamlining Enterprise workflows with #FuseEnterprise 🚀 Trader Interactive is a US auto marketplace consisting of 13 brands. They attract 13 million visitors every month. Publift partnered with Trader Interactive with the goal of delivering strong business outcomes across both programmatic and direct revenue streams. Trader already had a strong ad operations team and ad setup with Header Bidding, Open Bidding, an Amazon integration, as well as good ad density. However, Paul Cook, the Senior Director Media Operations was looking to improve business metrics such as Page RPM, eCPM, viewability and ad revenue. On top of gaining Publift as an extension of their adops team, with Fuse, Trader was onboarded onto a platform that empowers their ad operations team to modify display inventory without the need for extensive developer support. 🤓 How did it go? 🤔 With our Enterprise platform, Trader was able to launch new custom direct creative templates in minutes. Work that would usually take months to test and build was executed in hours. We implemented temporary sponsorship units, custom creatives and products through Fuse. 🔥 We also activated optimisations like lazy loading, SSP analysis, ad block recovery and AB testing.
