We’re very pleased to share that due to the downgrading of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, QPAC can re-open tomorrow, Sunday 9 March, and performances will go ahead as scheduled. This includes all performances of Sister Act The Musical and Queensland Theatre’s Pride and Prejudice. Whilst we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to QPAC, importantly we acknowledge that some of our ticketholders will be impacted by the effects of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and still be unable to travel to scheduled performances. Ticketholders will be emailed with further information including refund and exchange options. Please only travel to QPAC for your performance if it is safe for you to do so. We will continue to monitor the situation and contact ticket holders directly if advice changes overnight. The safety of everyone working at or visiting QPAC is our number one priority.

We now hope to update about Sunday performances by early afternoon today. However, if you are due to attend a performance on Sunday 9 March and you already know you cannot attend, please email info@qtix.com.au and our Call Centre team will be able to process your refund or exchange (if availability permits). Given the uncertainty around Cyclone Alfred and its impacts, all performances at QPAC are cancelled or postponed until Saturday 8 March (inclusive). Information regarding performances past Saturday will be updated by 12pm Saturday 8 March. We acknowledge that this is a very unpredictable situation and are monitoring updates very closely. Given how changeable the situation is we will provide rolling updates at least one day prior to any impacted performances. We understand that depending on location, some of our ticketholders are already impacted by Cyclone Alfred, and others still have blue skies overhead. If you are already impacted by Cyclone Alfred or will be unable to travel to future performances, please don’t hesitate to contact our Call Centre on 136 246. Our team is ready to discuss your options and look after you. We will continue to post updates as we can and encourage any ticketholders to keep an eye on email for specific updates on performances as we will notify any further changes by direct email.

QPAC’s Out of the Box festival for children eight years and under returns this June 🌳 A full‑venue takeover, packed with theatre experiences, workshops, free events and activities with additional programs across the cultural precinct at the State Library of Queensland, Queensland Museum, and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art. For this year’s festival, we have been inspired by the theme of Hope, and as theorist Paulo Friere acknowledges, not as an aspiration but a necessity, and especially so in the lives of children in our post‑COVID world. Explore the full program now > https://lnkd.in/gAdxSETu This year's festival is proudly supported by Out of the Box Principal Partner C&K - The Creche and Kindergarten Association.

On 13 February 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd apologised on behalf of the nation for past laws, policies and practices that have impacted Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly members of the Stolen Generations and their descendants. Today, we came together to mark the anniversary of National Apology Day alongside our friends from Link-Up (Qld). We'd like to extend our thanks to MC Ivan Ingram, guest speakers Aunty Flo Watson OAM, Aunty Florence Onus and Dr Rose Barrowcliffe, the Murri School Dancers and singer Edgar Conlon for contributing to this celebration of culture, resilience, and unity. This is event is now available to watch on demand. Learn more > https://lnkd.in/g4AVcN4Y
