As devastating wildfires continue to impact the other side of the world, bushfire-prone areas, including Queensland, are reminded about the importance of disaster preparedness in their own backyards. Cattle graziers Donna and Barry Aitken share their story of loss, recovery and resilience below after their property, Boxvale, on the Upper Dawson, was impacted by the 2023 Southern Queensland bushfires. The Aitkens spoke about the day the fires raged through their property, the damage the disaster caused, and how QRIDA’s disaster financial assistance helped them recover. The graziers hope their journey will help other primary producers impacted by disasters. Read the Aitken’s story here 👉https://bit.ly/4hiW5cy or watch it below 👇.

How it started vs how it’s going! Over November, Regional Area Manager for the North West and Gulf, Sam Fryer took part in Movember! Sam grew his ‘stache to fundraise for this important cause and also to remind us of the importance of men’s health, especially in rural areas where access to healthcare can be limited. Well done Sam!
