Building back better – today Suncorp announced a $500,000 community recovery package to help communities impacted by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston said providing funds to support long-term community-led recovery was crucial to build back stronger and safer: “We are proud to support two organisations working directly with impacted communities to aid in both recovery and rebuilding efforts, as well as immediate support for essentials supplies and services.” Suncorp’s assessors and builders remain focused on progressing claims and carrying out repairs, and customer support teams remain on the ground in affected regions. Over the past week following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred making landfall, the safety of the community, our customers and our people continue to be Suncorp’s top priority, as the insurer scaled up teams managing high claims volumes, emergency repairs, and on-the-ground customer support. Our Customer Support Teams, set up in the Mobile Disaster Response Hubs, are currently deployed across multiple locations and will continue this into next week. Some of our customers visiting our Hubs are still without power. Suncorp Chief Executive Consumer Insurance Lisa Harrison, Executive General Manager Home Claims Customers Alli Smith and Chief Risk Officer Bridget Messer met with our teams and customers at the Hub in Tweed Heads and spent time visiting impacted homes with assessors in the region. Watch the video as they see the damage first-hand from ex-TC Alfred, including felled trees through customers' roofs and water inundation. As we move into the recovery phase, Suncorp reminds customers to reach out online 24/7 for claims support, or visit our Hub locations: https://lnkd.in/gyJK-2JE #ClaimsSupport #Community #HereToHelp #TCAlfred
