  • Although it translates to 'empty hand', Chris Myers insists his Karate journey has kept his hands very full. Chris, a Coordinator at the PSA Tool Store, started learning Shotokan Karate in the early 2000s, joining his young daughter in the local dojo of their rural town, where they reached brown belt together. 22 years later, as a 4th Dan Black Belt, the highlight of his Karate career came in October 2024 when he represented Australia at the Shotokan Karate World Cup in London, achieving Silver medals in two competitions - the Senior Men (45-54) individual Kumite and the Senior Men Team Kumite. "You very rarely go in with the expectation that you're going to win, so from my initial disappointment, I realised I had achieved something incredible. Karate allows me to stay fit, to release stress and energy, and has made me a lot more patient and understanding of people's abilities and learning journey. Everyone is going through their own battles." #RoyHill #Karate

  • Processing involves cleaning the size the ore and remove impurities, a critical step in the pit to port chain. Our award-winning Wet High-Intensity Magnetic Separator Plant allows us to collect over 4.5 million tonnes per year of ore that would otherwise end up in tailings. Watch the clip on processing below to learn more. #RoyHill #Pittoport

🤩 What an exciting start to 2025! 🤩 Last month, Liebherr-Australia and Roy Hill not only announced their brand-new partnership but also celebrated the handing over of a brand-new R 9800 excavator in Perth, Western Australia. The R 9800 is the second of three new Liebherr machines that will be delivered to Roy Hill – but this one is special! Its bucket and the counterweight were painted bright pink by Liebherr’s Australia’s fabrication team to support the great work Roy Hill does in advocating for breast cancer research. 💗 Want to learn more? This month the Hanrine Smiles program brought much needed dental education and screenings to the remote Community Schools of Jigalong and Nullagine, and Newman Primary School. Amazingly, for some of the 180 children who were screened, it was their very first ever dental check-up. Four final-year dental students with their tutor, hit the Marble Bar Road over four days with the HanRoy Community Team to deliver their expertise where it is needed most. Importantly, children at the community schools who required follow up were shuttled to the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service in Newman for treatment. A big thank you to the principals and staff at each school for again welcoming the Hanrine Smiles team with open arms. An extra special thank you goes to Jilen Patel, Senior Lecturer at The University of Western Australia (UWA) Dental School and Specialist Paediatric Dentist at Perth Children’s Hospital, for making the trip up to ensure everything went smoothly. This three-year collaboration (with twice yearly visits) between the UWA Dental School and the Hanrine Foundation is designed to make real impact —one smile at a time 😁!
