Rumin8 has achieved another important milestone in bringing our methane-reducing feed additives to market after receiving feed ingredient approval from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply in Brazil.   This is a significant development for Rumin8 as we advance through regulatory milestones, and is a major leap forward in accessing the world's largest cattle herd.   The Brazilian approval follows the provisional regulatory authorization in New Zealand in late July.   “Rumin8 is very quickly building a bank of regulatory authorizations required to progress the commercialization of our methane-reducing feed additives for livestock,” said Rumin8 CEO David Messina. “Two regulatory authorities have now assessed the safety data of our products, and both have allowed us to proceed through an important regulatory gateway. That provides Rumin8 with confidence that we are on the right pathway.”   With the receipt of the Brazilian feed ingredient approval, Rumin8 can progress efficacy and safety studies in commercial animals to generate the required data for full approval in Brazil. Brazil has the largest cattle herd in the world, at almost 235 million head, providing a major opportunity for Rumin8. By comparison, the US cattle herd is ~95 million head, and the Australian herd is ~30 million head.   ⬇️ Read more in the comments.   #Brazil #AgTech #Methane #Livestock

Rumin8's Caroline Heller had the opportunity to present at the 2024 Kansas City Animal Health Corridor Annual Summit last week to a sold-out audience.   The summit brought together global leaders in animal health and nutrition and featured presentations on industry trends, challenges and opportunities.   Rumin8 was proud to be one of thirteen emerging companies chosen to showcase innovation in the animal health space, which was a significant focus at this year’s conference.   It was a fantastic opportunity to present our company and technology to industry leaders and provide an update on our commercialization and registration progress.    #AnimalHealth #Methane #Livestock

Rumin8 has passed an important milestone in bringing our methane reducing feed additives to the market, with the provisional registration by the New Zealand Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) for our first methane reducing feed additive. This approval is an important first step in the New Zealand registration pathway. It allows for efficacy and safety studies to be conducted in commercial animals to generate the data for final approval in New Zealand. We’re aiming to accelerate our products into the hands of producers with a view to reduce livestock methane emissions and improve productivity. “New Zealand farmers are some of the most innovative farmers globally, and the world continues to learn a lot from them,” said Rumin8 CEO David Messina. “They are already leaders when it comes to producing lower carbon meat and milk, so we’re excited at the prospect of being able to offer a new technology to support their efforts.” We’ve been working with commercial and research partners in New Zealand to test the safety and efficacy of our technology since 2022. This is one of multiple registration processes that are progressing in parallel, with engagement activities with the US FDA and Brazilian MAPA regulatory bodies ramping up off the back of our recent trial results. ⬇️ Read more in the comments. When we release new methane reduction results, farmers often ask, “How will your product impact my productivity?”. We’re excited to share new positive top-line results today at the Breakthrough Energy 2024 Summit in London from recent studies that are helping us generate data required to potentially answer these questions. Analysis of three cattle trials showed that cattle produced less methane and gained more weight on average, when fed Rumin8’s development stage methane reducing feed additive. Cattle trials recorded up to 86% reductions in methane intensity and 8.4 to 12.5% higher weight gains compared to control groups that were fed the same base ration.   While our number one focus remains on reducing methane production, we are particularly interested in these initial weight gain figures, because productivity improvements are of high interest to farmers. These initial findings are an exciting step forward and support our early hypothesis that reducing methane can enhance productivity by converting otherwise ‘lost’ energy from the rumination process. ⬇️ Read more and access the studies detail in the comments.  #AgTech #Methane #Climate #Livestock #BESummit24

Great to see Ambassador Sophie Davies at the Rumin8 office in Perth yesterday and provide an update on our progress in Brazil. With more than 200 million cattle, Brazil has the world's largest commercial herd, so it’s vital in efforts to drive down livestock methane emissions. Livestock productivity is also critical for its economy and global competitiveness. While our primary focus is reducing livestock methane emissions, some of our independent trials are studying animal productivity. Brazil was among the first to record these material gains from livestock which is a promising sign for commercial adoption. Rumin8 is laying the groundwork for product registration in Brazil through independent studies. We’ve recently initiated a third independent trial through the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation Embrapa while we advance our engagement with the MAPA regulatory body.
