Safe Work Australia leads the development of national policy to improve work health and safety and workers’ compensation
About us
Safe Work Australia leads the development of national policy to improve work health and safety and workers’ compensation arrangements across Australia. It is jointly funded by the Commonwealth, state and territory governments through an Intergovernmental Agreement. As a national policy body Safe Work Australia does not regulate work health and safety laws. The Commonwealth, states and territories retain responsibility for regulating and enforcing work health and safety laws in their jurisdiction. Safe Work Australia works to: • raise awareness of work health and safety as a key issue in the community • improve work health and safety, by understanding what influences Australian workplace cultures and then putting in place mechanisms to effect change • unify work health and safety laws throughout Australia • develop national work health and safety and workers’ compensation policy, and • identify opportunities for improvement in workers’ compensation arrangements. What a fantastic #SafeTea event! Great to see your commitment to National #SafeWorkMonth Intravision Pty Ltd👷♀️
Throughout October, Intravision hosted a series of #SafeTea toolbox talks while our teams enjoyed egg and bacon rolls and morning tea. These sessions have focused on the four weekly workplace safety and well-being topics communicated by Safe Work Australia during the National #SafeWorkMonth. Our teams engaged in interactive discussions, using the 'SafeTea' dice to guide conversations, and watched videos covering workplace health, safety, and ergonomics, with a particular emphasis on preventing musculoskeletal injuries. These activities sparked valuable conversations about overall employee well-being. Each staff member received a “SafeTea” pack filled with teas, biscuits, chocolates, and a playful stress-relief gadget, adding a fun and engaging element to the event. These sessions highlight Intravision’s commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and engaged workplace culture. A big thank you to everyone for getting involved and supporting a healthy and safe workplace! #SafetyIsOurBusiness #SafeTea #SafeWorkMonth

Today we’re shining the #SafetySpotlight on older workers 🔦 💡 Did you know that older workers are over-represented in serious workers’ compensation claims for musculoskeletal injuries? 55–64-year-olds made up 14% of the workforce but accounted for 20% of all serious MSI claims in 2022-23. Workers at all ages have a right to a safe and healthy work environment. Under the model WHS laws, employers must prevent MSIs by: 🩼 ensuring the workplace is free from things that cause MSIs, and 🩼 consulting with workers and others (e.g. health and safety representatives) to manage MSI risks as much as they can. See our website for more information about MSIs- https://lnkd.in/gYx5pReY #SafetyIsOurBusiness #SafeWorkMonth

Check out this incredible #SafeTea event with Western Geotechnical & Laboratory Services! Thanks so much for getting involved in National #SafeWorkMonth 👏🌟
Safety is Everyone's Business !!! In honour of National Safe Work Month, our incredible Safety Commitee Leaders organised a fantastic Safe Tea event, inspired by Safe Work Australia. The team came together to enjoy a CUPPA and engage in meaningful conversations about work health and safety. Our safety committee leaders truly outdid themselves by also incorporating Kahoot into the event, making it fun and interactive. Everyone got involved, answering questions about our health and safety practices. It was a great way to recap our knowledge and ensure we're all on the same page when it comes to safety. A big congratulations to our three winners, whose fingers were quick on the pulse 🏆 It's wonderful to see our team having fun while reinforcing the importance of safety in our workplace 👍 #SafetyIsOurBusiness #SafeTea #SafeWorkMonth

Thanks Spec Services for hosting what looks like another great #SafeTea event! ☕
During October’s National Safe Work Month, Spec Services hosted a #SafeTea talk, where we discussed key work health and safety (WHS) topics, including safety on construction sites, handling hazardous chemicals, and using appropriate gear for various cleaning jobs. It was a great opportunity to connect with our peers and a vital reminder to stay alert and vigilant in the workplace, recognizing potential hazards and reducing risks. - Safe Work Australia Safety is everyone's business – we are more than just a cleaning company! 💙 #SafeWorkMonth #WorkSafeACT #WorkplaceSafety #SafetyIsOurBuisness #SpecServices
