As October comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on another impactful Safe Work Australia Month at SPS Facilities. This month, we held SafeTea sessions with our teams, engaging in meaningful safety discussions on identifying workplace hazards and how courageous conversations enable us to address and resolve these risks 🤝. For National #SafeWorkMonth, Adelaide Oval partnered with legendary commentator Brian Taylor to create a series of videos in his signature ‘Roaming Brian’ style. BT interviewed staff across the business to highlight essential WHS topics, including hazard identification, risk management, psychosocial safety, and musculoskeletal injuries. These videos are now valuable resources for training new employees and enhancing safety awareness.   To further promote safe work month, activities and challenges were organised around the weekly themes created by Safe Work Australia, with prizes up for grabs. Activities included an employee scavenger hunt with safety challenges, such as logging hazards and incidents, and workspace safety inspections. These initiatives reinforced the message that “Safety is everyone’s business.”   A huge thank you to our WHS committee who did an amazing job at getting our staff involved throughout the month! 👏   #SafetyIsOurBusiness SafeWork SA

Southern Cross Care NSW & ACT was proud to take part in the SafeTea National Safe Work event throughout October. Our staff across 40 communities gathered over a cuppa to discuss important work, health and safety topics, including WHS Fundamentals, Psychosocial Hazards, Risk Management Fundamentals, and Musculoskeletal Injuries. The gatherings fostered discussions about workplace safety and the importance of everyone’s role in maintaining a safe environment. Heidi McCowan, Head of Safety, Wellbeing, and Allied Health, shares: "I am incredibly proud of our team’s unwavering commitment to both safety and wellbeing for everyone in our organisation. Throughout October, our staff have participated in various activities and initiatives to commemorate National Safe Work Month. From Safe Tea catch ups to a giant dunk tank, we’ve done it all! Proving that learning about safety doesn’t have to be boring, but that safety does have to be everyone’s business.
