We had the opportunity last week to present at American Conference Institute's UAV Summit about "Lessons learned from AI-enabled persistent wide area surveillance operations". It was a tough act to follow with insights and personal experiences shared around CUAS capabilities in both the Middle East and the Russian war in Ukraine. We’ve had the pleasure to host #ADFA UNSW Canberra student Melvin Ding as part of his engineering work experience. This program has been running for over 10 years and Sentient has been a long term supporter. Thank you for including us! Claire Woodwell and Keirin Joyce Melvin worked on computational fluid dynamics and structural calculations, and learned to prepare carbon fibre hardware that houses AI-enabled ViDAR optical sensors. This is part of Sentient’s test and evaluation to ensure payloads are consistently manufactured for higher altitudes and faster speeds. This program enables future #ADF Engineering Officers like Melvin are introduced to industry capabilities of Defence Australia.   Australia is home to the sovereign industrial capability of AI-enhanced situational awareness, where every aircraft with ViDAR can detect, locate, classify and track objects to support critical decisions in real time. #YourADF #AI #computervision #engineering #STEM #futureworkforce
