On Saturday we hosted our very first First Nations one day workshop in collaboration with Garlett Group at Reconciliation WA 💜. It was a day full of code, cupcakes, bushtukka, SO MUCH yarning and conversation, and meaningful connections. We are really passionate about providing opportunities that are inclusive for all women. Our indigenous sisters have 60,000+ years of knowledge of this land and we can’t help but think how much richer and more powerful our society can be if we give them a voice. This event was the first of its kind for us, and a big shout out goes to City of Perth and Garlett Group for making it happen. Our 14 mentors who came down and shared their wisdom and energy, we thank you. A special call out goes to Ross Minney and Devhouse for providing a solution for super fast wifi and, as always, the fabulous Josh Fernandes who photographed the event. 🖤💛❤️

🌱 She Codes Update 🌱 It’s been 2 months since I started the She Codes Australia course and we have already learnt so much about programming, coding and the world of tech! This is my first portfolio project, created in HTML and CSS (and a tiny bit of JavaScript) - a bit of a late update, but I’m excited to share! I created this portfolio with the idea of reflecting my skills and interests in my own ‘world’. This was a fun way to get creative and provide a unique user experience when visiting my portfolio. It is still a work in progress - with plans to improve responsiveness and have full functionality of the ‘wordle’ game - but it is nice to see how far I’ve come!
