Sport Integrity Australia is the government entity providing support to sports on all integrity matters.
About us
Sport Integrity Australia is the Australian Government’s response to the findings of the Review of Australia’s Sports Integrity Arrangements (Wood Review). The Review looked at what we do now, where our weaknesses are and what we need to change to protect the 14 million Australians who take part in sport annually. Sport Integrity Australia is working with sports, the sports-wagering industry, and state and territory regulators to provide clearer, more transparent, and consistent sports wagering regulation to, ultimately, protect Australian sport from sports wagering related threats. We combat illegal activities such as match-fixing by using coordinated response. We work with governments, sports, regulators, wagering service providers and law enforcement agencies. By developing national policies, resources and education we are safeguarding sport in Australia. As Australia’s national anti-doping organisation we are responsible for implementing an effective program consistent with international requirements and Australian legislation.

Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) have become a key component of work undertaken in the anti-doping space. With the expansion of the World Anti-Doping Agency's I&I Capability & Capacity Building Project into Asia and Oceania, a key message is the need for National Anti-Doping Organisations to work collaboratively with law enforcement to disrupt and dismantle drug production and distribution in the fight for clean sport. At WADA’s recent I&I workshop on the Gold Coast, we spoke with Chair of the ORADO (Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organisation), Dr Lawrence Teariki Puni, about work in this space, which is new territory for National Anti-Doping Organisations across the Pacific. Reducing silos and becoming more engaged with law enforcement across the Oceania region is now a key priority for ORADO and its member NADOs.
