The rapid evolution of #GenAI tools present both opportunities and risks for teaching, learning and assessment. To provide insight into the current state of gen AI tools, and how they might be used by students, Sydney University’s Prof Danny Liu and Dr Benjamin Miller have produced a series of 3 videos on TEQSA’s behalf. In the latest video, Dr Miller looks at gen AI and reflective writing. Keep an eye out for the final video in the series, which will be published soon. October is #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth, and the theme for 2024 is 'Cyber security is everyone's business'. In recognition, the Australian Signals Directorate has shared 4 steps which everyone can take to improve their cyber security: - Turn on multi-factor authentication. - Keep devices and software up to date. - Use strong and unique passwords. - Recognise and report phishing.
Delaying an update is like giving cybercriminals a free pass to access your devices. Software developers release updates for their products to fix security concerns and improve functionality. Make sure all devices in your network have automatic updates switched on and are updated regularly. When prompted, update devices and software to the latest version as soon as possible. This will reduce the window of opportunity that cybercriminals have to exploit any vulnerabilities. Our Essential Eight Maturity Model has recommended timeframes for patching. If your software or device can no longer get updates, consider replacing or upgrading it. Find resources on our website to protect yourself and your business this #CyberSecurityAwarenessMonth.
