At the SafeR Industry Forum hosted by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on Tuesday, 22 October, industry leaders Brian Sheedy (TfNSW), Andrew Taylor (Bullivants), Tom Clark (Fulton Hogan) and Brandon Hitch (CICA) took the stage to present the award-winning NSW Dogging and Rigging Guide. Executive sponsor, Pete Church (TfNSW, Head of Rail) is shown on the right. This critical guide, designed to enhance safety in high-risk industries, has set a benchmark for best practices in dogging and rigging operations across the country. While David Solomon FISQEM Certified Management Systems Specialist (lead)(MBA NSW), a key contributor, wasn't pictured, his input into the project was acknowledged as instrumental. The guide has earned accolades for its practical application and positive impact on the industry, reinforcing a collaborative commitment to high safety standards. The team was awarded CICA’s Excellence Award on Saturday, 19 October. To access the NSW Dogging and Rigging Guide, go to https://lnkd.in/d42kdruM #CICA2024 #Cranesafety #collaboration

About us
The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) is the national peak body for the crane industry in Australia. CICA represents over 700 members, including company owners, original equipment manufacturers, rigging equipment retailers, CraneSafe Assessors, and other industry service providers. CICA was formed in 1980 with the objective of providing ‘one voice’ on matters of mutual concern to the Australian crane industry and has branches that operate in every state or territory in Australia. CICA provide the opportunity for owners, marketers and end users to come together through conferences, seminars, meetings and united efforts to represent and progress the industry nationally. Through liaising with crane owners, hirers, operators, construction companies, government and regulatory bodies as well as other establishments affiliated with cranes and their use – CICA seeks to improve crane usage, efficiency, and safety outcomes.

The CICA Bill Shaw Memorial Trophy is for the overall best lift. Among the entries from all categories this year, the Girder GSR-08 Install of Bridge 80 of the West Gate Tunnel Project stood out with the enormous amount of detailed lift planning and engineering controls in place to conquer the many constraints from the site, and the high efficiency in lift operations. Congratulations to this year's Bill Shaw Memorial Cup winners – BMS HEAVY CRANES Australia and CPB Contractors & John Holland Group Joint Venture. This project team displayed a commitment to ensuring the work was planned and executed to the highest standard of safety. #CICA2024 #Winners

Congratulations Alevro, this year's CICA Innovation Award winner – for their LNG Compressors Jack Down with Jacking System. Alevro, in collaboration with Bechtel Corporation, introduced a synchronous jacking system designed to minimise on-site installation activities. The jack down innovation for a compressor module of this size is a world first and has never been executed before. It was also the first time an entire module has been prefabricated in a fabrication yard and installed onto a foundation. This system ensures millimetric precision and complete control of the loads, critical for handling sensitive modules. #CICA2024 #Innovation #Winners
