  • Pushing the boundaries of traditional design principles, Maytree Studios have leant into colour and texture to create the home of their client’s dreams. The open plan living, dining, and kitchen space of the Same Same but Different House is a perfect example of how materials can be both practical and expressive, grounding the home while standing strong in personality and style. Laminex surfaces, including Laminex Kalamata in the open plan living, dining, and kitchen space, enhance the collaboration of texture and tone throughout. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gc22DPck

We are proud to have officially launched Fletcher Building Australia’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the next important step in our reconciliation journey that builds on the progress of our first Reflect RAP launched in 2023. Since 2023, we have successfully achieved all the commitments we set out to accomplish—including building connections with Traditional Owners, partnering with First Nations businesses, and celebrating culturally significant events like NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week. Gareth O’Reilly, Chief Executive of Fletcher Building Australia, says, "I’m incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made through our Reflect RAP. These achievements have strengthened our relationships with First Nations communities and deepened our understanding of their rich histories and cultures. With the launch of our Innovate RAP, we’re committed to going further—promoting cultural awareness, creating real opportunities, and building a future founded on respect, collaboration, and shared growth." Our Better Together value has guided us on this journey, and together, we’re working towards a future that honors respect, understanding, and collaboration. A special thanks to YarnnUp for their guidance and to First Nations artist Elaine Chambers-Hegarty for creating the artwork that represents our journey. This artwork, proudly displayed across our sites, symbolises our shared commitment to reconciliation. #Reconciliation #RAP #FletcherBuilding #Equality

  • Great design is about balance, and Dachshund House strikes it perfectly, pairing a bold, cement-clad exterior with inviting interiors lined with plywood and a range of green-toned Laminex décors. Burnished concrete floors provide thermal stability, supporting the homeowner's focus on sustainability while enhancing the home’s modern aesthetic. Demonstrating the possibilities of a modest budget - and firm mindset - this family home highlights what can be achieved without compromising on environmental credentials or design preferences. • Designed through a collaborative process between Maytree Studios and homeowners Phil and Brady, the ‘Same Same but Different House’ resists conventional home design principles, instead shaping a space that truly reflects the dreams and needs of its occupants.

Every detail, from layout to material selection, was approached with creativity and purpose. Extending from the kitchen, through the dining and on into the living room, a long wall, containing cupboards, utilities, and storage has been clad in a single décor, Laminex Kalamata. It’s an incredible statement, that feels wonderfully controlled. The deep, bold red is heavily blackened to reduce its colour intensity, working with the powder-coated metal handles, polished concrete floor and white ceiling, and Laminex Burnt Ochre internal cabinetry; its boldness is tempered, but no less impactful. Quietly asserting itself, the home makes confident statements but does so with gentility and control. Nicknamed 'Same Same but Different', because of the several attempts at completion, it now stands proud, representative of the collective effort of the client and architect. The result of a considered design process, the 'Same Same but Different House' feels intuitive, inviting, and completely unique. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gJxVra66

A Legacy of Collaborations | Introducing Laminex x Adam Goodrum Two icons of Australian design – Laminex and Adam Goodrum – have partnered to create a colourful and playful piece of furniture that nods to the past while looking firmly to the future. Drawing inspiration from the Art Deco envelope tables of the 1920s, the Echo Table transforms with movement. At first glance, it appears as a monolithic, sculptural form, but with a simple unfolding motion, the table expands to reveal a bold, unexpected interplay of colour, texture, and geometry. Read more about Laminex's recent collaboration on estliving.com – link in bio. Table Design: Adam Goodrum Studio for Laminex Australia Art Direction & Styling: Nat Turnbull Table Build: Evolve Group (Interiors & Stone) Photography: Lillie Thompson

Video Feature • The Laminex Series • Despite the strict budget of the clients, Brisbane home Same Same But Different exudes luxury through an expansive garden and considered interior finishes. To meet the budget, Maytree Studios opted for a simple form – two modestly sized rectangles that sit atop one another – and employed cost-effective finishes like Laminex throughout the residence.
