Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership
Non-profit Organization Management
We connect, catalyse and learn to change the odds for Queensland children and young people to thrive.
About us
Communities thrive when children thrive. Children thrive when people and systems work together. The Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership has a single purpose of bringing together government, not-for-profit, tertiary, corporate and philanthropic sectors to work at a systems level so that all Queensland children thrive. We are not another entity, institute or service organisation. We have come together to act - with a small core team - as a broker and intermediary for a coalition of the willing, and to connect, catalyse and amplify existing and new efforts that share, translate and apply knowledge of what works and what matters. Our focus is on facilitating the use of what we have and what we know in practical ways. We are thrilled by the level of engagement and strong support from a wide array of government, non-government and tertiary leaders and entities across diverse portfolios and sectors who share our ambition and motivation to do things better. The Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership (TQKP) is an ARACY initiative. The Thriving Queensland Kids Partnership acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the Traditional Custodians of the land and waters of Australia.

ARACY applauds the Government co-investing with leading philanthropic partners to establish Partnerships for Local Action and Community Empowerment (PLACE)—a new, independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to addressing complex, local issues like youth development, health, education, and early years support. With a $19.3 million commitment, matched by Minderoo Foundation, Paul Ramsay Foundation, The Ian Potter Foundation, BRYAN FOUNDATION, and Dusseldorp Forum, PLACE will work alongside communities to create programs designed to meet each community’s unique needs, ensuring lasting impact - just as we’ve highlighted in our recent report on the transformative impact of place-based approaches. Together with The Investment Dialogue for Australia's Children (IDAC), ARACY is dedicated to building a strong, collaborative platform for community-driven initiatives that address complex issues like youth development, education, and early childhood. Through PLACE, IDAC, and evidence-based support, we’re helping to create a future where all children and communities can thrive. “Place matters. Community matters.” says ARACY Lead, Operations Diana Harris. “The way government and philanthropy choose to work with communities makes or breaks the success of their work.” Read the media release: https://lnkd.in/gPuHDtiy Read the ARACY paper on 'Place-based Initiatives in Australia: An Overview': https://lnkd.in/g8mHCRMR Jim Chalmers Amanda Rishworth Kristy Muir Simon Factor Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI)

We are very excited that the Australian Government has announced that it is co-investing alongside 5 philanthropies to develop a “national, independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the needs and aspirations of local communities and addressing entrenched disadvantage”. “This is about listening to and empowering local leaders, working with communities and designing services in a way that meets their bespoke needs. The Australian Government is investing $19.3 million over five years to establish Partnerships for Local Action and Community Empowerment (PLACE). This will be matched by five philanthropy partners: Minderoo Foundation Paul Ramsay Foundation the The Ian Potter Foundation the BRYAN FOUNDATION and the @Dusseldorp Forum. PLACE will act as a one-stop shop to identify, support and enhance place-based programs in areas like the early years, youth development, health, education, employment and youth justice. PLACE will focus on strengthening the capacity of communities to design and deliver these programs, promote evidence sharing, and improve data governance across place-based initiatives. We are excited that dozens of Queensland communities and thousands of Queenslanders are expected to be helped by PLACE’s work in its first five years. TQKP has been strongly supportive of this national approach, reflecting the shared aspirations of the TQKP supported Qld Thriving Places, Thriving Kids Network. We do hope that this will be complimented by state and territory based infrastructure and multi-sectoral partnerships - like the Qld Place Development Network Model - as the States and Territories do a lot of the essential heavy lifting in what happens in our places and regions. Place-based approaches at their best involve governments at all levels partnering with local communities to develop collaborative, long-term solutions to complex social problems tailored to individual community needs. TQKP looks forward to collaborating with PLACE to maximise the opportunities and impacts for Qld’s child and youth focused place-based initiatives.

This Doco will be a game changer.. Many people know I have doing lots of work in the space of parenting; learning about, implementing how to be and do better as a parent has been the biggest and most rewarding responsibility ive had. We think parenting is just looking after kids, and keeping them fed & safe & it is but it’s also so much more - it shapes our little peoples mind, their relationships, their interactions their entire life.. This documentary process was the most healing process for me & my kids that I’ve ever experienced!! The stuff captured, the stuff that didn’t make the film - all of it, has played a role in us being stronger as a little crew!! One thing I’ve learnt for sure; there’s a difference in telling your kids you love them, and them feeling loved.. we all love our kids, but sometimes, how it lands can be a complete different narrative!!! Seen Documentary is out in March 2025. The vision & direction from Sam Jockel hailey bartholomew and a host of other important people has built a masterpiece!! Some amazing experts sharing stories, experiences & science around parenting, development and everything in between - don’t miss it!!
