Too often, young people facing disadvantage are seen only through the lens of what they lack - rather than the strengths they have built, the challenges they have overcome, and the potential they hold. In 'Notes from the Field', our partners at Learning Creates Australia are uncovering how leading practitioners across multiple schools, systems, and communities are rethinking the way young people’s learning is recognised in place - particularly for those at risk of being left behind. Key themes from the latest field notes highlight that: Capabilities matter especially for young people navigating disadvantage, pathways need to be real, visible, and navigable, and agency is a powerful enabler of change. What’s emerging is clear: when we recognise more, learning can open up doors and opportunities, dismantling barriers so that no young person is left behind. Barriers to early learning are about more than money says PRF partner Uniting's Tammy Pararajasingham in this interview on Network Ten 👇
Uniting Director Social Impact and Innovation, Tammy Pararajasingham, tells Channel 10 First News how non-financial barriers are preventing 1 in 10 children from quality early learning. Without investment in the proven solution of a navigator model such as Uniting’s Links to Early Learning, to guide families through the complex early learning system, too many will continue to miss out on its lifelong benefits – despite guaranteed subsidies. We’re calling for continued action to ensure every child gets the best start in life. 👉Find out more about the More than Money campaign: https://lnkd.in/gQBhRx5m #WeAreUniting #EarlyLearning #Parents #Parenting #AusPol #NSWpol
