🍽️ Hanoi enjoyed a true blue Taste of Australia, and a giant bite of Queensland as TIQ partnered with Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to bring our unique products to Vietnam. Taste of Australia attracted a record attendance of around 2,000 guests and great interest in our Queensland products. Held inside the historic Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the event was a culinary delight and celebration of the enduring connections between Australia and Vietnam. #TasteofAustraliaVietNam #TasteofAustralia #TOABigBBQ2024

The international appetite for First Nations products and services is not just growing - it's thriving. TIQ has made it their mission to elevate First Nations businesses onto the global stage. Many Indigenous businesses in Queensland are not yet fully aware of the tremendous export opportunities available to them. That's where TIQ steps in. "We know First Nations goods exporters generated more than $670 million in turnover in 2022-23. The challenge, however, lies in sourcing and supply." Australia, the world’s largest exporter of chickpeas, has a significant opportunity to reclaim market share in India. India, which is the world’s largest consumer of chickpeas, has eliminated tariffs on desi chickpeas (Bengal gram) until March 2025. Before tariffs were imposed in 2017, India imported 60% of Australia’s total chickpea supplies. Australia chickpea production for the 2024-2025 season is projected to reach 1.3 million tonnes, with Queensland making up more than 50% of the total output. This growth will be driven by favourable farming conditions, high expected yields and strong profit margins. With Australian agricultural exports to India soaring by 50% since the implementation of ECTA, now is the perfect time for Queensland farmers to re-establish connections with the Indian market.
