That’s why we’ve developed a Communication Balance Metric to plot your team’s overall engagement. This metric serves as a powerful indicator of how well team members are represented in discussions and work, 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. It highlights opportunities to bring more engagement from those who might be less represented, ensuring that every voice is heard. By tracking this balance across channels and work items, Umano helps teams create a 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 where everyone feels comfortable contributing their opinions and experiences. This fosters an inclusive environment where all team members can contribute as expected, 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀. At Umano, we’re committed to helping teams thrive by ensuring that communication remains balanced and inclusive. #TeamEngagement #Diversity #Communication #PsychologicalSafety #Umano #AgileProjectManagement

Symbols unite teams, fostering belonging and identity. What’s your team’s rallying symbol? #TeamExperience #TeamEngagement 💜 #Umano
Team belonging…identity… Badges were in abundance at Atlassian’s Team24 Europe. Symbols for a tribe to connect, relate, feel included. Since the age of time symbols have represented tribes and identity. Flags, colours, ensigns, crests…avatars. What symbols identify your tribe, acting as a rallying cry that unites, aligns and includes? #teamexperience #teamperformance #teamengagement 💜 Umano Sebastian Golz

🚀 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 – 𝗡𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱! As Chris Boys reflected on his first SAFe Summit, the key message is clear: Adaptation and continuous improvement are essential in these times of rapid change. Yet, so many discussions centered around “change fatigue.” Why do we resist growth? The challenge lies in balancing constant change with the familiar. As leaders, it’s crucial to motivate and elevate our teams to find this balance. At Umano, 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 are the keys to navigating this shift successfully. #Umano #SAFe #TeamPerformance
My first SAFe Summit. Key message: adapt or deteriorate. No middle ground. Adaptation. Continuous Improvement. The times are calling for the greatest shift in our human capacity for learning, re-skilling and evolving. Yet, so many customer presentations referred to ‘Change Fatigue’. I’ve heard of this scape goat through out my entire career. My observation is that as humans, our default is to play small, safe, secure, i.e. anti-change and growth, hence the resistance and fatigue. It’s an interesting conundrum: how to balance constant change, the unknown and unpredictable with the familiar, the known. I think this is one of the greatest challenges of our times: motivating, encouraging and elevating this balance in the teams we lead. If we don’t, we’ll be wading mud rather than treading water. Standardising learning presents our greatest opportunity. Integrating lessons from action. Generating applied wisdom. Special credit to Christopher Ruch and Michael Casey for their awesome sessions, some of which I've included in this summary for you all. As always, these gatherings are so much about who you meet! Umano's Playbooks focusses your delivery team performance improvement. Set agility goals (metric related) such as speed or quality. Define supporting Practices and Guardrails to keep your experiments on track!
Long-term product-engineering success isn’t measured by how big the feature is that you’ve shipped, but by the number of small, incremental components delivered along the way, moving you in the direction toward your goals. Many of us dream of quick customer success in response to the features we’ve created and the impact we hope to have had, but the reality is that true and sustained performance is built over time. With a clear line of sight on the goal, it’s rarely about taking giant leaps. Rather, it’s about the consistent, small and aligned actions the bridge us to our goal and move us in the right direction. Each step, no matter how small, brings us closer to our product/platform and customer goals. It’s somewhat of a cliche, but the journey metaphor works. You wouldn’t expect to reach your destination instantaneously (somewhat boring some might say?). Instead, focus on one small creation at a time; design, build, review and deployed as excellently as you can within the constraints that your have, as a whole team. Delivering this way reduces the risk of burnout and helps build sustainable habits that contribute to long-term success. It’s the cumulative effect of these small practices excellently carried out over the lifecycle of a product or program’s creation that leads to sustained progress and performance. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction. By maintaining a steady pace and keeping your focus on the goal, you’ll find that delivery success is not only achievable but massively satisfying and rewarding. Keep moving forward. Your consistent efforts today will pave the way for an effective and productive future. Umano’s Playbooks can help. Set a metric focused Goal, define supporting Practices and Guardrails to keep you on track to elevate your team’s ways of working. 🚀 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙚𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙐𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙤 🚀 Imagine this: Your team is wrapping up another sprint or iteration, and while the tasks may be complete, the real work begins when you take a step back and reflect. At Umano, we believe the true power of agile lies in constant reflection and improvement. That’s why we created Reviewer - a tool designed to help teams sharpen their reflective muscle, focusing on three critical areas. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲 🎯: According to a recent 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙮 (𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨), a significant number of developers are feeling unhappy and disengaged in their roles. Understanding how your team feels about their work is essential in preventing burnout and dissatisfaction. Umano’s Reviewer allows teams to measure this sentiment through customizable polls or open-ended questions, tracking the team’s mood and morale over time. By regularly reflecting on these insights, teams can spot potential issues before they escalate, keeping motivation high and performance strong. It’s about more than just progress - it’s about understanding the deeper factors that drive a team’s success and well-being. At Umano, we’re committed to helping teams not only track their performance but also cultivate the emotional health and culture that leads to long-term success. Let’s build agile teams that are not only high-performing but deeply reflective. #Agile #Teamwork #Reflection #ContinuousImprovement #Umano #AgileProjectManagement

💬 Unlocking Deeper Team Insights with Umano 💬 At Umano, we’re passionate about empowering teams to discover the insights that fuel continuous growth and success. One of our key features allows teams to dive deeper into their dynamics by expanding on crucial questions and seeing how each member has responded. When you spot a range of different answers, it’s a golden opportunity to bring that discussion into your next retrospective. This not only sparks meaningful conversations but also helps the team get to the heart of why there’s varied sentiment on a specific part of their workflow. But that’s not all. We’ve also created a dedicated space called Team Input. Here teams can reflect on their wins, identify challenges and pinpoint areas for growth in the next iteration. By capturing these insights, teams are better equipped to elevate their performance and collaborate more effectively. At Umano, we’re all about nurturing open communication and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, helping teams unlock their full potential. #TeamInsights #ContinuousImprovement #TeamInput #Umano #TeamPerformance
