A new beginning...
About us
Based in the University of Sydney, we are a dynamic team of student engineers who design and manufacture high power sounding rockets. Our team spans over multiple disciplines of highly technical backgrounds, and it is this diversity that drives our growth and innovation in everything we do. As Australia’s first university-based rocketry team, our dedicated team are constantly pushing boundaries in the rocketry environment.

In late April, USYD Rocketry Team journeyed to Mullaley. Amidst the scenic rural setting, we successfully completed two launches of Archtail, the teams’ first ever kit hybrid! Every moment contributed strongly to the team's operational learning and experience especially for our new members. A special thank you to NSW Rocketry Association for organising this event! It was such an amazing opportunity to see some other teams from around NSW, and also for our members to launch their very own LPR’s (low powered rockets)! We are so excited to use all this hands on practice for upcoming projects, so keep an eye out for what’s next! #australianrocketry #usyd

USYD Rocketry is celebrating International Women and Girls in Science Day! We are incredibly proud of our skilled female engineers. USYD Rocketry aims to promote and create a space for female representation in engineering and to end gender stereotypes. We like to think we are breaking the glass ceiling with a high-powered rocket! We hope that the work and achievements of our female teammates inspire a brand-new generation of young female engineers. This year, the team is excited to announce our new outreach project, GLIDER: Girls Leading In Diverse Engineering Roles. USYD Rocketry will address the gender imbalance in STEM fields by connecting female students with the opportunities and resources they need to pursue further STEM education. Watch this space! #WomenInSTEM #womeninscienceandtechnology #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience #innovation #technology #space
