With hundreds of tourism leaders and government representatives landing in #WesternAustralia for the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit, it made sense they’d be taking a ride on a Kinetic bus. This influential event is all about aligning efforts to support the travel sector — and we’re happy to be in the front seat as #Perth plays host. #wearekinetic #GSPerth

We move 100 million people with Australasia's biggest network of urban, regional, airport and specialist bus services.
About us
Established over 45 years ago, Kinetic has grown to become the largest bus operator in Australia and New Zealand, and a global, multi-modal transport network with operations that span across the UK, Europe and Singapore. We began in 1978 with Melbourne’s Skybus – a cost efficient, reliable airport transfer service. Today, we manage a global network of bus and rail services, with a team of 36,000 dedicated people and 11,000 buses seamlessly moving over 100 million passengers every year. We’re the trusted operator of urban, regional, school and charter bus services across Australia and New Zealand. We operate 40 per cent of buses in Queensland, a third of Melbourne’s bus network, and almost half of bus services in Tasmania. In NZ, we’re proud to partner with councils in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Tauranga. Our expertise spans continents, operating in five countries across Europe. In the UK, we run the Go Ahead network – alongside joint venture partner Globalvia – which includes the Govia Thameslink rail link, the largest and most complex rail system in the country. We believe in improving the communities in which we live and operate, and making a positive impact on people’s lives. We’re removing the diesel buses that emit millions of tons of greenhouse gases every year. We’re putting women up front. And we believe in LGBTQI+ inclusion and the freedom to be your true self. Governments, airports, businesses, schools and councils count on us every day. You too, can count on Kinetic.

We were thrilled to receive the 2024 BusNSW Environment and Innovation Award earlier today for the trial of zero-emission school buses across the #TweedCoast in partnership with Transport for NSW. Speaking at the BusNSW Member Conference in Sydney, Minister for Regional Transport and Roads the Hon. Jenny Aitchison MP announced the successful trial will now be expanded in more regional areas. #wearekinetic #BusNSW

We are always excited to jump on board Foodbank Victoria's mobile supermarket to help bring food to #Melbourne communities in need. Dandenong in the city’s south-east was the latest to benefit from this impactful program which has fed hundreds of thousands of people—and we couldn’t be prouder to help keep it on the road. Thanks to our #GoldCoast drivers and event co-ordinators who helped move up to 25,000 attendees for the Promiseland Festival at the weekend. We mobilised 40 buses daily for dedicated event shuttles while many festival-goers also hopped on Kinetic’s route services across the city. #wearekinetic

Driving progress in #WesternAustralia! It’s an exciting time for our team in WA with an additional contracted school service commencing this week—and two more kicking off in 2025. Big congratulations to our UK colleagues at The Go-Ahead Group who have this week completed the roll-out of 104 zero-emission buses (ZEB) in the historic university city of #Oxford. The first of the new electric fleet went into service just nine months ago, powered by a depot in Cowley which underwent upgrades to become one of the biggest electric charging stations in Britain. This transformative initiative was funded by the Government’s Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas (ZEBRA) scheme and Go-Ahead’s Oxford Bus Company. We’re building for the future in #NorthQueensland with expansion works underway at our Townsville depot including adequate all-gender facilities and parking for team members, and additional capacity for future growth. With the region subject to extreme weather, the works also include substantial storm-water upgrades to futureproof against flooding events. This means less disruption to vital public transport infrastructure and capacity for additional bus services to keep passengers moving as the city grows. #wearekinetic
