A social enterprise supported recruitment service and an initiative of Jesuit Social Services.

About us

JustWorks, an initiative of Jesuit Social Services, is a social enterprise and values based supported recruitment service. JustWorks is verified with Social Traders and People and Planet First. Jesuit Social Services is a social change organisation with a vision of building a just society. JustWorks aims to support businesses by referring our candidates for specific roles, social procurement initiatives, or diversity recruitment objectives. Our candidates are talented and experienced but often over-looked in mainstream recruitment processes due to systemic and social bias aligned with identifying as a candidate from a priority cohort, such as culturally or linguistically diverse, from refugee background, seeking asylum or skilled migrants who have professional qualifications from overseas. Pre-screened and job-ready candidates are connected to employers for a placement fee if successful. JustWorks also offers post-placement support packages and additional cultural agility training.

🔍 Tackling Tough Interview Questions Series 2. "What Are Your Areas of Development or Improvement?” This question can feel like a trap, but it’s actually a great opportunity to show self-awareness and a commitment to growth. 🔑 Here’s how to handle it: - Be honest, but strategic – Pick an area that isn’t critical to the role but is something you’re actively working on. - Show growth – Talk about what you’re doing to improve. For example, “I’ve been focusing on developing my public speaking skills by taking a course and volunteering for presentations at work.” - Keep it positive – Frame your answer in a way that shows you’re proactive. It’s not just about identifying a weakness, it’s about how you’re improving it! This question is a chance to highlight your self-improvement journey and how you turn challenges into growth opportunities. 🌱

🎯 Welcome to our series on tackling tough interview questions! 1. "Do You Have Any Questions?" When you're asked, "Do you have any questions?" at the end of an interview, it’s a golden opportunity! This isn’t just a formality—it’s your chance to demonstrate your interest in the role and the company, and to leave a lasting impression. 🔑 Here’s how to handle it: - Show you're engaged – Ask questions that reflect your genuine curiosity about the team, company culture, or key challenges in the role. - Demonstrate forward-thinking – Consider questions like: "What does success look like in this role?" or "What does success look like as an individual or team?" - Clarify next steps – ending with, "What are the next steps in the hiring process?" shows you're eager to move forward. Remember, it's a two-way street—this is your chance to see if the role is the right fit for you. Ask the questions that help you get the information you need. Also, your questions can highlight your enthusiasm and preparedness, setting you apart from other candidates.   Stay tuned for more posts in our “Tackling Tough Interview Questions” series!

Today is Wear It Purple Day – a day to promote inclusion, show our support for people across the gender and sexuality spectrum, and celebrate the diversity within our Jesuit Social Services community and beyond. This year's theme, "Your Passion, Your Pride,” acknowledges that everyone has the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming. On Wednesday, members of our Support After Suicide team attended an online webinar from Switchboard Victoria’s 'Changing the Landscape' team.  Centred around the theme of this year’s Wear It Purple Day, mental health advocate Emily Unity shared their perspective about what it means to hold passion and pride in their own lived and living experience, especially when advocating for change within systems that may not want us to be part of the conversation. A project of Switchboard Victoria, 'Changing the Landscape' is a national campaign committed to creating a future where LGBTIQA+ suicide prevention is a national priority.
