    📢 The 3DAcademy project, supported by the Erasmus+ Programme and coordinated by the BG01 - Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), has completed a groundbreaking assessment of 3D printing and scanning technologies in Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions across partner countries. ◾ Survey Findings: The survey, conducted in Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Ireland, involved 170 educational institutions. Key insights include: -Prevalence of STEM Centers: 53% of participating schools have dedicated STEM centers. -Adoption of 3D Printing: 40% of schools possess 3D printing equipment, mainly Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) printers. -Resource Diversity: Schools have diverse facilities, including computer labs, 3D labs, and workshops. ◾ Impact and Future Steps: The findings will guide the development of a Blended Training Programme tailored to the specific needs of VET institutions, promoting technological proficiency and innovation.     At the 2024 Brijuni Conference, sessions will spotlight another group of distinguished experts who will share their insights on the growing challenge of space debris and its implications for the future of space exploration: Dr. Martin Schimmerohn works for the Fraunhofer Institute of High-Speed Dynamics (EMI) in Freiburg/Germany since 2007, where he leads the Spacecraft Technology Group. Prof. Ognjan Božić worked for The German Aerospace Center as a research scientist for 19 years. Research was focused on solid and hybrid rocket engines, aerothermodynamics, rocket propulsion, space system concepts etc. Dr. Juha-Pekka Luntama - Head of the Space Weather Office in ESA. Was appointed as the Mission Scientist for the GRAS radio occultation instrument onboard the Metop meteorological satellite series in EUMETSAT HQ in Germany. Dr. Richard Moissl - Head of the Planetary Defence Office of ESA.  Solar System Physicist with a specialization in small bodies. Participated in different roles in the Rosetta mission to Comet 67/P, the BepiColombo mission to Mercury and worked on the preparation of the Hera proximity operations of the Didymos/Dimorphos binary. Dr. Ivan Tomljenović, PhD - Head of the Oikon Institute at Oikon Ltd and external Assistant Professor at ALGEBRA University, Coordinator for UniGIS Zagreb, Head of the Downstream Sector at A3, and Croatian Delegate for the Horizon Europe Programme Committee (Digitization, Industry, and Space).     The 'Space Debris' session at the 2024 Brijuni Conference will feature a distinguished panel of experts who will discuss one of the most pressing challenges in space technology today. Our esteemed speakers include: Prof. Heinz Stoewer - TU Delft, Founder of Space Associates GmbH. Stoewer was the first European Space Agency (ESA) program manager for the Spacelab project, where he created a strong systems group. Stoewer also founded ESA's Systems Engineering and Programming Department, where he implemented the end-to-end systems engineering philosophy in ESA's projects. He worked as the Managing Director of the German Space Agency for National Space Sciences and Application Projects. Prof. Heiner Klinkrad - Braunschweig University of Technology (TUBS), Head of the ESA Space Debris Office (2006-2014), one of the most important authorities on space debris. He published the book "Space Debris" (2006) and published 250 papers on various topics of astronautics. Prof. Guenter W. Hein - Professor Emeritus of Excellence of University FAF Munich. He was ESA's Head of the EGNOS & GNSS Evolution Programme, in charge of the development of the 2nd generation of EGNOS and Galileo. He is the Chairman of the Executive Board of Munich Aerospace. Dr. Tim Flohrer - Head of Space Debris Office, European Space Agency - ESA. Tim Flohrer has led ESA's Space Debris Office since 2020. Since 2014, he has been working for ESA's Space Situational Awareness Program (SSA) and Space Safety Program (S2P) and leads activities dealing with space debris monitoring. In parallel, it supports operational collision avoidance activities for ESA and third-party missions, re-entry predictions, mitigation analyses, long-term space debris environmental predictions and space debris risk assessments. The team has been working on the topics of space debris and space surveillance for more than 22 years. Prof. Zeljko Ivezic - University of Washington, Department of Astronomy, SeattleŽeljko's scientific interests are the detection, analysis and interpretation of electromagnetic radiation from astronomical sources, with an emphasis on data mining and machine learning methods. He is the co-author of over 300 peer-reviewed publications, with a cumulative number of citations of over 100,000.
