Agroecology Europe at the first meeting of the European Board on Agriculture and Food (EBAF) One month ago, the European Board for the Agricultural Future (EBAF) held its first meeting, setting the stage for discussions on the future of agriculture in Europe. Agroecology Europe emphasized that EBAF should play a pivotal role in developing a #science-based, systemic, and #respectful debate to build a common vision for European agriculture, with clear action points within the next 100 days. It will be crucial to monitor how these discussions will be reflected in EU policy-making. In particular, the role of research in shaping policy should not be used as an #excuse for inaction. With the growing body of scientific research demonstrating the success and #relevance of agroecology worldwide, it is clear that agroecology is not just a theoretical concept but a realistic policy option for the future. The evidence is overwhelming: agroecology is booming, and it is time for policy makers to take bold steps towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient agricultural system in Europe. #Agroecology #EBAF #EUAgriPolicy #SustainableFarming #AgroecologyEurope #ScienceForAction #EUAgroecology
