With a wealth of experience as Deputy-CEO and CEO of Tous Politiques !, Serena has a proven track record of fostering political engagement and driving social change. Moreover, her academic background in philosophy and entrepreneurship makes her the perfect fit to lead our mission of advocating for #startup friendly policies across Europe and the globe. 🩺 Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to attend The Parliament Magazine’s Health Summit 2024 which, along with plenty of coffee and conversation, tackled some of Europe’s most pressing #health challenges with a focus on real, actionable solutions! 🫀 From battling non-communicable diseases and improving mental health to the exciting digitisation of #healthcare, the summit gave us all plenty of food for thought. We couldn’t agree more with Christine Lagarde’s perspective on the crucial role of #venturecapital in driving #innovation across Europe. She raises an important question: “Maybe national leaders should go and ask their innovators?” 🤔 It's about time we have more exchange between policymakers, innovators, and investors! What's more, it’s essential for innovators to have access to new capital at every stage of their journey. “Innovators need fresh capital every step of the way and if they can’t secure that fresh capital locally.” Without local #funding, talented innovators may be forced to take their groundbreaking ideas elsewhere. 🇩🇰 Last week, we attended the S9+ meeting in Copenhagen, hosted by DI - Confederation of Danish Industry - Confédération des Industries Danoises, Danske Iværksættere - Danish Entrepreneurs and Tænketanken EUROPA, just before the D9+ ministerial meeting. We dove into lively discussions about Europe’s digital, competitive and resilient future, with topics ranging from #AI investment strategies and opportunities, to balancing #innovation with #regulation, and the transformative potential of #digital tools. Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of attending the #RAID2024 conference, where we explored the transformative effects of #tech #innovation on regulatory frameworks across diverse sectors. First, we explored the challenges of aligning horizontal regulations, such as #data privacy and #AI governance, with industry-specific rules in vertical sectors, during a panel featuring Kai Zenner, Cian O'Brien, Dr. Laura Caroli, and Boniface de Champris. Later, we explored how AI-driven innovations can enhance patient care and boost medical research. We are happy and honoured to have been selected by the European Commission's #AIOffice to participate in the drafting process of the first-ever general-purpose #AI (GPAI) Code of Practice! The Code will facilitate the proper application of the #AIAct for #GPAI models, ensuring they meet its requirements and address the challenges associated with managing AI-related risks. In the coming months, we’ll be diving into these key topics in our working groups: 👉 Transparency and copyright related rules 👉 Risk identification and assessment measures 👉 Risk mitigation measures 👉 Internal risk management and governance for GPAl model providers Looking forward to the kick-off plenary next week and the ones to follow; let’s roll up our sleeves and get started!
