🌲 What are the unintended & unseen consequences of using wood for construction❓ “Mass Timber would have large adverse effects on the World’s forests. Supplying large quantities of wood for construction would also require large increases in wood harvesting. Even without mass timber, wood used for timber, paper, and all purposes other than fuel, will be 90% higher in 2050 than in 2010.” #WRI 👉 https://bit.ly/49Rm0EA #CA4BM Cerame-Unie Concrete Europe ECSPA - European Calcium Silicate Producers Association ERMCO GCCA – Global Cement and Concrete Association EMO - European Mortar Industry Organisation

#CBAM is crucial to ensure a level playing field and drive industrial #decarbonisation. But for it to work effectively, strong enforcement and clear regulations are essential. Here are some key measures to prevent fraud, enhance transparency, and strengthen CBAM implementation: ✔️ Strict mirroring of the #EUETS to avoid loopholes ✔️ Robust verification to tackle misreporting risks ✔️ Clear customs codes & sampling to prevent circumvention ✔️ Resources for enforcement at EU and national levels 📢 Read our position paper for more: https://lnkd.in/e8GfK3dg

📍 One year after the launch of the #AntwerpDeclaration, business leaders have once again gathered in Antwerp —this time with 400 business leaders, industry and worker representatives— to discuss the just-published #CleanIndustrial Deal with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The message from industry is loud and clear: #DeliverTheDeal To restore investment, safeguard jobs, and build a competitive & sustainable Europe, we need: ✅ Immediate action from EU Heads of State ✅ A strong business case for investing in Europe ✅ Concrete steps to restore industrial competitiveness ⏳ The time to act is now.

🚨 The #CleanIndustrialDeal is here — now it’s time for action! The European Commission has set the course with the #CleanIndustrialDeal. To truly drive industrial #decarbonisation, key gaps must be addressed: 🔹 Financing – The Industrial Decarbonisation Bank must go beyond coordination and actively deploy funds to support transformation. 🔹 CO2 Infrastructure – A concrete plan for transport & storage lacks —a must for deep decarbonisation. 🔹 Affordable Energy – High electricity prices hinder industry transformation. Market design reform is urgently needed. 🔹 Lead Markets – Demand for low-carbon materials must be incentivised through public procurement and circular economy policies. We are ready to engage to ensure that the Clean Industrial Deal is translated into concrete policies that enable a competitive, sustainable #cement industry. 🔗🗞️ Read the press release here: https://lnkd.in/ex6-57jU
