We also cooperate with national supervisory authorities and other supervisory bodies to improve consistency in protecting personal information. In our supervisory role, we monitor and ensure that the EU institutions comply with data protection rules. Disclaimer: The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), together with the other European data protection authorities cooperating in the European Data Protection Board, is working to ensure that social networks respect the highest standards of data protection. The EDPS recommends users of social networks to be particularly careful about how they disclose their personal information and about how it may be used by third parties and the social networks themselves. *** Towards a Digital Clearinghouse 2.0 *** The future of digital governance and effective enforcement in the digital world requires a thorough discussion to foster cross-regulatory cooperation and address the existing fragmentation in governance. The current digital landscape is characterised by the enforcement of multiple regulatory frameworks happening in silos. Data protection, consumer rights, and emerging regulations now overlap significantly. However, regulating the digital economy cannot be done in silos. Today’s EDPS seminar has explored the complexities of such cooperation and launched the proposal to work on the establishment of a Digital Clearinghouse 2.0. This enhanced platform would serve as a structured forum for authorities to coordinate their efforts, share expertise, and resolve inconsistencies more effectively. In his closing remarks, Wojciech Wiewiorowski highlighted the importance to enhance such cooperation and to move to practice.

***Become a walking #Datapedia*** 📙 From A to Z ... master the Privacy vocabulary! We all make small or big decisions in our day-to-day lives, whether it’s deciding on what to wear, which job to accept, or school to go to. But, what if all decisions, both mundane and important, become automated? 💻 No need to imagine. In some cases, it’s already happening: your job application could be selected automatically; your credit score decided by a machine, or your insurance policy could be determined by algorithms.
