📢 European Shipowners and European shipyards and maritime equipment manufacturers issue joint statement   European Shipowners | ECSA and SEA Europe (Shipyards' & Maritime Equipment Association of Europe) call on the Commission to include shipping, shipyards and equipment manufacturers in the European Maritime Industrial Strategy and Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP).   The joint statement supports voluntary schemes for encouraging demand for low- and zero-emission ships, retrofits, and clean technologies in Europe.   European Shipowners support that: 💠 European Maritime Industrial Strategy and Sustainable Transport Investment Plan should ensure the international competitiveness of European shipping as a prerequisite for a strong and competitive European maritime industrial cluster. 💠 Addressing the widening innovation gap in Europe is the only way to enhance the European industrial base. 💠 Financial support from the national and EU ETS revenues must enhance the uptake of clean tech and fuels.   Read more about our statement ⤵️ https://lnkd.in/eh4SQ27X #EuropeanShipowners #shipping

European Shipping Summit 2025: Merenkulku on eurooppalaisen talouden ja huoltovarmuuden kulmakivi 🚢⚓🌍 Eurooppalaisten varustamoiden kattojärjestö European Shipowners | ECSA'n isännöimä tapahtuma European Shipping Summit (ESS) järjestettiin 19.–20.3. Brysselissä. Tänä vuonna tapahtuman fokuksessa olivat: 🔷geopoliittinen tilanne ja sen vaikutukset merenkulkuun 🔷vähäpäästöisen merenkulun kehittäminen 🔷eurooppalaisen merenkulun rooli huoltovarmuuden turvaajana 🔷merihenkilöstön saatavuus tulevaisuudessa ja alan kyky houkutella uusia tekijöitä Suomen liikenne- ja viestintäministeri Lulu Ranne osallistui paneelikeskusteluun geopoliittisesta tilanteesta ja merenkulusta. ”Merenkulun merkitys Euroopalle on kriittinen. Eurooppalaisen merenkulun kilpailukyky on oltava maailman kärkeä. ” summaa Suomen Varustamoiden toimitusjohtaja Tiina Tuurnala.
