EuCIA's #EcoImpactCalculator – a quick introduction! ⬇
What is your ECO Impact and have you ever assessed your solution's Lifecycle? RAPHAEL PLEYNET from The European Composites Industry Association; EuCIA introduces the eco impact calculator, developed already back in 2016 by the composite industry to assess the environmental impact of products. The tool uses data from resin and glass-fiber producers, transformation processes, and the ecoinvent database. It was developed with EY and provides CO2 footprint and life cycle assessment (LCA) in less than two minutes. The tool is free and accessible on EUCIA's website (Link: eucia.eu) Users register, select their recipe, and receive the results in no time. Ilkay Özkisaoglu hosted a number of short reels during the JEC Forum DACH 2024 in Stuttgart and will present you some more in the upcoming days. So stay tuned! PS: We are onboarding for our next round of #Composites360OnTour for JEC Paris 2025. If you have news on innovation, technology and / or sustainability please contact us on details, how we get you fast and easy into the spotlight. PS: Register on JEC Group's JEC WORLD and submit your innovation by 3 November 2024 (last extension) and win your valuable prices! (Both Links in the comments)

[ PROJECT ] EuCIA is applying its expertise on the life cycle assessment #LCA and #circularity of composite materials to #tidal turbine #blades as part of the EU-funded MAXblade project. 🌊 ♻ #MAXblade is aiming to upscale tidal energy and drive down costs. EuCIA is involved in a work package focused on Industrial Competitiveness & Circular Economy, and more specifically in a task reviewing #materials and #manufacturing methods for recyclable composite tidal blades. This has provided an opportunity to collaborate with The University of Edinburgh and offer technical support on how to approach an LCA for a composite material, and how to describe the different aspects of circularity. ⏭ We're now working to identify the #partners and #supplychain needed to enable the further development and growth of this renewable energy in Europe.
