Reflecting back on an inspiring week at Health House! We hosted an incredible event focused on the transformative power of #Biodesign in shaping the future of healthcare. 🚀 The session kicked off with prof. Maarten De Vos (KU Leuven), who shared how Biodesign is empowering healthcare innovators to push boundaries and create real change. 🧠✨ We were thrilled to have Gert Van Assche, Chief Medical Officer (UZ Leuven) who gave us a glimpse into how UZ Leuven is breaking ground in healthcare Our amazing Design4Health fellows took the stage to pitch their innovative ideas: ✅ Team Rehabilitation Ward shared their journey of reimagining patient recovery for spinal cord patients and boost breathing recovery with mouth harmonica therapy ✅ Team Operating Theatre impressed us with their prototype for a new rollover mechanism We also heard from Mikesh Udani, CEO of Albus Health, who shared his startup journey—born from a biodesign programme and now making waves in the industry! 🚀 Finally, Sys Zoffmann Glud Glud, Managing Director BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Programme, gave us invaluable insights into building a Health Innovation Program. 💡 This project was made possible by the collaboration and support of our amazing partners: KU Leuven, UZ Leuven and Smart Hub Vlaams-Brabant Interested in how #Biodesign can transform your business or organization? 💡 Must read in MEDVIA! Stel je voor dat je tijdens het wandelen plots het gevoel krijgt dat je voeten vastgelijmd zijn aan de grond. Je benen werken niet meer, je verliest je balans en je zou op de grond kunnen vallen. Dit scenario komt meermaals voor bij mensen die lijden aan Parkinson en heet “freezing of gait”.
