🔋✈️ We are thrilled to announce the completion of a major milestone: Deliverable 7.3 - "Cell level model of Gen 4 Battery", led by our partner IFP Energies nouvelles. This achievement is a key step in advancing our understanding of next-generation #halide #solidstate #batteries, designed for electric vehicles and aviation. Through the development of multiscale/multiphysics models, WP7 is providing guidance to optimize cell and electrode designs, improving performance and extending battery lifetime. The newly developed cell-level model offers critical insights into the behavior of Gen4b cells, including how applied pressure impacts performance by enhancing interfacial contact and stabilizing cell voltage. These findings will help us strike the perfect balance between performance and engineering simplicity. 🔋 🚀As part of the #HELENA project, CustomCells is pushing the boundaries in the development of #solidstate #batteries ⚡ with #halide electrolytes, focusing on solutions for #electricVehicles 🚗 and #electricAviation ✈️. Their goal? To scale the technology developed by the consortium to industry-relevant cell sizes, targeting capacities between 1 and 10 Ah 🔧🔋. 👉 Customcells is collaborating closely with all partners to define the cell format 📐 and components 🔩 of prototype pouch cells, ensuring the technology can be scaled up effectively. A major challenge in this process is the production chain under dry conditions 🌵, as the halide electrolyte—a critical component—requires extremely low humidity during processing. To tackle this, Customcells has conducted preliminary tests 🧪 using the halide electrolyte under different drying conditions, evaluating how these impact its ionic conductivity ⚡. 🎯 This update highlights the dedication and innovation of our partners in making solid-state battery technology a reality! 💪🔋

🔋 The HELENA Project continues to make progress in advancing 🌍 #solidstate #battery technology for 🛫 aeronautic applications. Our partner, Pipistrel Vertical Solutions, is actively working on the verification of the HELENA battery cell specifications. They are preparing for small-scale tests 🔎 guided by established protocols to evaluate the performance of the cells under conditions relevant to #electricAviation. In addition, Pipistrel is assessing the flight profiles of the ✈️ Velis Electro aircraft to gather valuable data for monitoring the #StateofHealth (#SOH) 📊 of the cells. Using state-of-the-art #algorithms, they are comparing different generations of cells to gain deeper insights into their behavior and operational capabilities as the project advances. We are proud of the contributions from our partners in driving #sustainable 🌱 #innovation for the future of aviation. 🚀

🚀🔋 At AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, exciting progress is being made on the HELENA Project! The team is developing system-level models using their in-house modeling libraries to evaluate the performance of HELENA’s #solidstate #battery technology for both automotive and aeronautic test cases. This cutting-edge work is enabling us to understand how these innovative #batteries perform at the vehicle level through advanced numerical simulations. For the initial system-level modeling, electrical parameters are being extracted from measurement data of coin cells assembled at AIT using components from dry processing. This is a key step toward optimizing the #battery design for high-performance applications in #electricVehicles and #electricAviation. 🌍✈️ We are thrilled to see the collaboration within HELENA advancing state-of-the-art battery technology toward a greener, more #sustainable future!
