N-SIDE supports the Baltic states in their energy synchronization with Continental Europe. The power grid operators from Estonia (Elering), Latvia (Augstsprieguma tīkls AS), and Lithuania (Litgrid) will be disconnecting from the Russian and Belarusian systems (BRELL) in February next year. The three countries will work together to create the Baltic Balancing Capacity Market (BBCM). This milestone will lead them to ensure the reliable and stable operation of their electrical networks by maintaining a real-time balance between supply and demand. For this crucial project in the Baltic states, the three Transmission System Operators will rely on the combined expertise of N-SIDE and navitasoft. Our N-SIDE Energy team will lead the development of the optimization algorithm and reserve dimensioning to ensure the market's seamless and efficient operation, while also supporting them in their smooth synchronization to the Continental Europe Area. N-SIDE is proud to participate in this project and contribute to the Baltic state's energy independence.
