Last week, Yves Stevens, our Regional HSS Director for PSA EuroMed & PSA Americas, paid our Türkiye business unit, Mersin International Port (MIP), a visit to conduct a safety inspection on their terminal expansion project, #EMH2. He emphasized how leadership safety rounds are critical for building a strong safety culture. These inspections aren't just routine, they show #PSA's commitment to the well-being of everyone on site and help us identify potential hazards early. Alongside the local #HSS team, Yves spent half a day engaging with the project leadership and workforce to ensure safety measures are in place. With over 500 workers on site during peak periods, setting clear safety protocols is essential. 2023 has seen great progress and we’re ready to carry that momentum into 2024 as we push towards ZERO accidents! 🌍 Recently, Peter Welvaert, Regional Equipment Procurement Manager for PSA EuroMed & PSA Americas, hosted the ie-net ingenieursvereniging/engineers' association at MSC PSA European Terminal in Antwerp.   It was a great opportunity to showcase some of #PSA's sustainability initiatives in logistics and technology, including our Green Straddle Carrier Program. During the visit, Toon Van Boxelaere and Mathijs De Laet, Sustainability Engineers at Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS), delivered insightful presentations on the battery-electric straddle carriers and dual-fuel straddle carriers, offering a glimpse into the future of eco-friendly port operations. 🌱 The group also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the terminal and our state-of-the-art workshop, where they got a closer look at some innovations in action. Our Regional Director of Engineering and Automation for PSA EuroMed & PSA Americas, angelo de jong, has concluded a productive week at PSA Halifax terminal in Canada, as part of his comprehensive maintenance assessment tour. 🌍✈️ In collaboration with Frank Wright, Engineering Manager at PSA Halifax, Angelo focused on exchanging best practices in the terminal’s maintenance and engineering operations. The goal of these Maintenance Maturity Assessments is to optimize the equipment maintenance processes at each terminal across the PSA EuroMed & PSA Americas regions, ensuring maximum efficiency and sustainability, particularly in challenging environments. A special shoutout to Jan Van Mossevelde, CEO of PSA Halifax and his dedicated teams, who work tirelessly, rain, snow, or shine, to keep operations running smoothly. 🏅 Stay tuned for updates as Angelo continues his journey. It was a privilege to participate in TOC Americas 2024, alongside Diego Garcia Crestani, COO at PSA Panama, and to share insights into the evolving landscape of the maritime industry across the Americas. Our region is experiencing growing demand, placing increasing pressure on ports to find efficient solutions that better serve shipping lines and customers alike. While speaking at the event, I highlighted the opportunities for boosting capacity through optimization and infrastructure investments, particularly in response to nearshoring trends. I also outlined #PSA’s Node to Network strategy, which focuses on creating synergy between ports to improve connectivity across the services moving through our terminals. Additionally, I introduced some of our digital innovations like Opt-Voyage, an important tool for streamlining vessel arrivals and berth management. These advancements are part of our broader effort to optimize operations and expand capacity in the face of increasing demand. 📢 Exciting developments are happening at KPMC Ltd., a joint venture between PSA International and Kazakhstan Railways National Company (KTZ), which manages Kazakhstan’s main railway network. 🚉 Established last year, #KPMC focuses on promoting the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (#TITR), a key trade link connecting Southeast Asia and China to Europe through Kazakhstan.  We’re proud to explore new opportunities along this corridor, such as transporting hazardous goods ⚠️ and enhancing global trade flows, both westbound (from Asia to Europe) and eastbound (from Europe to China and Central Asia).  #PSA is also looking at the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, as an alternative and faster trade route between China and Europe. As shareholder in DGT - Duisburg Gateway Terminal Terminal (DGT), Europe’s largest and greenest inland terminal, the teams engaged in a strategic workshop session to explore the role of #DGT in this evolving route by connecting Duisburg with Türkiye.    KPMC and PSA are paving the way for the future of global trade, alongside! 🌍 #AlwaysAlongside #PSAEuroMed #TeamPSA
