🚨 Calling all timber researchers and designers! 🚨
We're analyzing the discrepancy between loads applied by designers and those used by fire labs globally to assess timber structural behavior.
Our goal? Creating a database of actualized projects worldwide, detailing element sizes, applied loads, and material properties. If you've designed any load-bearing timber element, we need your help! The results of this study will be made publicly available, but the names of the companies involved will remain confidential.
I know you are all busy bees buy your good deed for the day would be to fill out or pass the industry survey to structural engineering companies designing with GLT or CLT elements: Industry survey
Additionally, if you think you could help us as a researcher and promote your work with loaded timber elements in fire conditions, feel free to fill in the research survey in the comment below.
No time to pass/share? Send me a message, with the emails of folks who might be interested in helping, and I will handle it for you! I am also happy to set up a Teams meeting for any neccesary clarifications.
Let us know if there's anything we can do to make this easier for you!
This study is undertaken as a collaboration between The University of Edinburgh, the The University of British Columbia and COST (The European Cooperation in Science and Technology).
