We’re excited to share that the final demonstration of the MUSHER project, led by Airbus Helicopters and supported by Space Applications Services, was successfully completed across France and Italy! The project demonstrated a cutting-edge Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) system, integrating both manned helicopters and unmanned systems within a single network. Through this collaboration, MUSHER enhances mission coordination and performance by enabling seamless interaction between manned and unmanned assets. The system not only improves situational awareness with real-time data sharing but also supports better decision-making and resource management during operations. A great leap forward for European capabilities in mission control! By focusing on modular refueling modules and the Satellite Construction Kit (SCK), SCHUMANN is making satellite missions more flexible and cost-effective. As part of this initiative, we’re launching a 📢 Call for Alpha Testers for RESONANCE — our innovative software tool designed to streamline the design of Functional Spacecraft Modules (FSMs). By improving the connections between spacecraft builders (Tier 1) and component suppliers (Tier 2), RESONANCE will contribute to the standardization and efficiency of spacecraft assembly and servicing. 🌕 Ready to defy gravity? In collaboration with German Aerospace Center (DLR), Space Applications Services presents PUPPETEER, a cutting-edge Mobile Gravity Off-loading system that simulates lunar gravity for astronaut training and space mission preparation. PUPPETEER's ceiling crawler vehicles, equipped with Constant Force Modules, provide gravity off-loading to multiple astronauts, rovers and equipment allowing each to freely move and interact without the usual constraints of crane based solutions. The system allows physically close interactions and can accurately track and follow the natural movements of a person/rover moving under the ceiling crawler. It will be a core feature of ESA and DLR’s LUNA facility in Cologne, a 700-square-metre lunar analogue for advanced simulation and training. ✨ Key Features: 🔹 Independent Motion: Free and simultaneous movement for both humans and equipment. 🔹 Realistic Gravity Simulation: Precise lunar gravity replication. 🔹 Collaborative Research: Supports critical studies in space mobility and suit design.
