🌍⚕️Marking #OneHealthDay by celebrating the One Health researchers of tomorrow! 🔙Yesterday was #OneHealth Day, highlighting the need for collaboration across disciplines to solve the critical global health challenges of today. This message is reflected in our alliance's One Health Focus Area, which advocates for a global, holistic and long-term approach to major health-related challenges. ☀️This summer, doctoral researchers from 15 universities - including all Una Europa partners - came together at the University of Helsinki's Lammi Biological Research Station for the Una Europa One Health Summer School. 👐The week-long programme explored global health challenges through a multidisciplinary lens. 🚀 #5432Una | "The closeness of bringing together different people, countries, universities that you find in Una Europa offers a really great experience that I would recommend to anyone." 🧭Since her first introduction to Una Europa in 2022, Freie Universität Berlin student Fleur-Nicole Riskin has undertaken a dynamic, multifaceted adventure with our alliance. 🙌From attending Student Congresses to participating in summer schools at our partner universities, being an active member of her university's Local Student Task Force to representing the student voice on our Student Board, Fleur-Nicole has experienced the diversity of our student opportunities for herself. 🗣️"The Una Europa Student Congress 2022 in Kraków was the first connection I had to the alliance. I became a Student Board member shortly after because I really enjoyed the Congress and I like what the alliance stands for and what it’s doing, especially with bringing different European countries and cultures together for bigger causes." 🛠️Fleur-Nicole has played a key role in shaping the #UniversityOfTheFuture with students at the core and communicating this vision to other. She even had the chance to meet the European Commission's Iliana Ivanova earlier this year, giving her perspective on the incredible potential #EuropeanUniversities hold for Europe's students. 🌟This academic year, Fleur-Nicole's Una Europa adventure continues as she embarks on her second year as Student Board representative for Freie Universität Berlin, taking on a new challenge as Secretary. 🌍🔓 #Jointprogrammes present incredible learning opportunities for students, both inside and outside the classroom. But building degree programmes across different countries, cultures and legislative systems comes with its own challenges. What are some of the tools to unlock joint programmes for the benefit of our students? 💬 We were pleased to contribute to the conversation on the European Approach for Quality Assurance of #jointprogrammes yesterday at the EQAR - European Quality Assurance Register Members Dialogue. The European Approach for #qualityassurance aims to ease the external quality assurance process for joint programmes by defining common standards operating at European level, harmonising with national legislation without adding additional criteria. 🗣️ Our Senior Policy Officer Sophia Karner shared insights from the development and implementation of our Joint Bachelor's in European Studies, which is co-delivered by nine Una Europa universities. Sophia presented on the challenges of creating a joint programme across so many partners, each operating in their own distinct #highereducation system, and how the European Approach for Quality Assurance has acted as a facilitator for this transnational collaboration.
