Converter platforms: Bringing renewable electricity from offshore wind farms to land In the second episode of #WindWorksForEurope, WindEurope CEO Giles Dickson visits Rostock, Germany. Here Smulders and MEYER WERFT are teaming up to build converter platforms for Europe’s biggest offshore substations. Under the name 'Neptun Smulders Offshore Renewables' they are setting up a new #manufacturing site in the shipyard of Warnemünde. It's a prime example of how wind energy creates growth and jobs in coastal regions - and just one of many recent investments along Europe's wind energy #supplychain. 💡 We can't have a successful energy transition without having Europe’s citizens on our side. The good news is that a majority of Europeans are in favour of more wind energy. And developers already do a lot to engage communities. But issues with particular projects persist. How can the industry improve this? And how can we tackle the increasing amounts of fake news? Join Guy Willems on 8 April at #WindEurope2025 as we discuss this issue with developers. They will be challenged to show their own creative approaches to community engagement. And we’ll test whether the audience is capable of recognising all fake news about wind! 🔍 Check out his sessions https://lnkd.in/eKATASDB https://lnkd.in/eNT2SYd5 ▶ See the full programme https://lnkd.in/etq4JuGw 📝 Register for the Annual Event https://lnkd.in/e5ai3mAR Guy Willems WindEurope
