Reparability of Consumer Goods in Belgium 🛠 🚨 Hot off the Belgian State Gazette 🚨 Today, two royal decrees and one ministerial decree have been published, outlining new obligations from the Belgian Act of 17 March 2024 aimed at promoting the reparability and durability of goods. Here's the scoop: 🔧 Reparability Index Incoming - Certain consumer goods newly introduced to the Belgian market will have to feature a reparability index. 💻🚲🛴 What's Covered? This includes dishwashers, hoovers, high-pressure cleaners, lawnmowers, laptops (excluding tablets), bicycles, electric bicycles, and electric scooters. 👩💻 How It's Calculated: The reparability index will be determined based on technical norms and calculation methods set out by royal decree. 📜 Transmission of Information: Manufacturers or importers must provide detailed reparability index information to vendors and distributors free of charge. ℹ Transparency: This information must also be available on a dedicated website maintained by the manufacturer/importer. 🛒 In-Store Display: The reparability index must be displayed next to the price using the specified colours (🔴🟠🟡🟢) and include a QR code linking to the dedicated website 📱. ⏰ Effective Date: These changes will come into force on 2 May 2025. Belgian Fintech Isabel Group provides a payment platform to over 2,000 banks and is now focusing its business on payment transactions. It sold its accounting sector services to @Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, one of the major players in the field of accounting software and services.
