🚲Management Board Off-site 🛫 Last week, our Stargate Management Board enjoyed sunny Mechelen for a day of reflection and strategic planning. ⏭️ "What will be the legacy of Stargate, after the project?" ✅ "How to ensure all our initiatives are successful and bear fruit for the greening of the aviation sector? " With 18 months of the project remaining, these questions shaped the day as all work package leaders put their heads together and planned ahead for the upcoming months of challenges. And of course, when in Flanders, do as the Flemish do: the Management Board enjoyed a bike visit around Mechelen, with the bike guide, and some stoofvlees to perfectly end the day. #StargateGreenDeal #SustainableAviation #GreenDeal

Today we had the chance to welcome a delegation from CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency at Brussels Airport to showcase the advances made within #EU-funded Stargate, with a focus on our autonomous shuttle proof of concept. 🚃 Autonomous Shuttle Update Alert 🚃 As part of our test for autonomous mobility in airport environment, our self-driving shuttle has today achieved a key milestone! This innovative vehicle has driven over 1000km, through 100 hours of active airside test. This represents the distance between our lighthouse airport Brussels Airport and our fellow airport Aéroport Toulouse-Blagnac! #autonomousmobility #sustainableaviation #Stargate #GreenDeal

🗺️ This week Stargate was present at the #TSAS Conference in Toulouse, hosted by Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France (3AF). 🎤 Pieter Leonard was there to showcase Stargate's and Brussels Airport's initiatives for a more sustainable aviation sector. His takeaways? 💡 The road to decarbonisation of our sector is a long one, but seeing so many players come together and give it their best, makes us hopeful! ☀️ Energy Community 💡   Today marks the start of a new interesting Stargate project as Brussels Airport allows 100 households from the neighbouring municipalities to benefit from its photovoltaic production.   🍀 As airports are increasingly ramping up their energy production, this project will test how they can share it with their neighbours. And it's a wrap! ✔️ The Seas to Skies conference is now officially behind us. After two days of panels, and exchanges about successes and hurdles that all projects are encountering on their paths towards a more sustainable aviation and maritime sector, it is safe to say that collaboration is more than ever on everyone's mind. 👏 After the Skyhall yesterday, hosted by Brussels Airport, today we were in Antwerp, with the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. First day done! ✈️ The first day of the Seas to Skies conference was a success, with representatives from all over Europe to discuss the five Green Deal projects for ports and airports. 🚢 Passionate discussions, exchanges and even heated debates today in Brussels Airport's Skyhall on how to make the maritime and aviation sectors greener. One thing is clear: the future of the Green Deal projects, and of our sectors in general, will only be possible through collaboration!
